Supernumerary MRI protocols and recommendations exist to guide physicians at the forefront of patient care. While urgent imaging may be necessary for critical patients, inadvertent imaging of implantable devices can incur serious morbidity and mortality[11]. The American College of Radiology published a 30-page manual in 2013[1] on MRI safe practices and releases yearly updates with critical information separately[2]. There is increased utilization of advanced imaging modalities, especially among academic institutions[3]. Physicians are hard pressed to maximize efficiency; uncertainty delays imaging.
