Background: Rosai Dorfman Disease (RDD, also known as sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy) is a rare non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis, classified into nodal (classic) and extranodal disease. Most patients present with non-tender cervical lymphadenopathy, although other sites including the inguinal and axillary regions have been reported. Extranodal disease (~43% of cases) can involve any organ system. RDD is more common in children, but cases have been reported in patients in their 70s. The prognosis of nodal RDD can correlate with the number of nodal groups involved. Background: Although systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) correlates with patient survival in various solid malignancies limited information is available in the setting of oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma (OCSCC).

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 222 patients who underwent a resection of curative intent for patients with OCSCC. SII was determined prior to surgical resection as platelet count × neutrophil count/lymphocyte count.

Results: At a median follow-up of 30.6 months, 2-year disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) rates were 63.9% and 76.4%, respectively. A high SII (>1047) was associated with poor performance status and disease extent. A low SII was independently …

Introduction: Chronic UV radiation affects the entire area of skin exposed, leading to visible actinic keratoses (AK) and subclinical changes in the surrounding skin. AKs are hyperkeratotic lesions, with a 0.025-16% risk of transforming into squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).1 Cellular atypia around AKs is the field of cancerization (FOC). Topical AK therapies can treat the FOC, while destructive treatments address visible lesions. FDA-approved products may be approved for field sizes up to 25 cm2.1,2

Osimertinib is a third-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) that has been used to treat EGFR mutant lung cancers, especially those with EGFR T790M mutation. Resistance to osimertinib is likely associated with acquired genetic alterations in these cancer cells. Mesenchymal epithelial transition (MET) is a tyrosine kinase and its amplification is frequently seen in osimertinib resistant patients. To investigate whether the presence of MET alteration is associated with osimertinib resistance, a meta-analysis was conducted using published observations of EGFR mutant lung cancer patients treated with osimertinib. We report a case of a 66-year-old female who presented to the ED with generalized headache and mild confusion, who was diagnosed with high-grade glial neoplasm. The differential diagnosis of headache is vast, but without red flags or symptoms is generally from a benign cause and easily treatable. However, even in the context of a normal neurologic physical exam, symptoms such as confusion, forgetfulness, and behavioral changes should merit imaging in the workup. Eltrombopag has been used in ITP and found its use in AA armamentarium recently. We retrospectively analyzed 61 patients at a tertiary care center in Pakistan from January 2015 to January 2021. They included patients with severe AA who were refractory to at least one course of immunosuppressive therapy and persistent/chronic ITP who have received at least one previous treatment for ITP. Responses to Eltrombopag in our population were comparable to real-world experiences while tolerable hepatotoxicity and GI issues were notable. We found Eltrombopag to be a safe and efficacious agent for treating patients with ITP and AA.

Background: Cases of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS) have been reported following vaccination with AZD1222 or Ad26.COV2.S. This review aimed to explore the pathophysiology, epidemiology, diagnosis, management, and prognosis of TTS.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted to identify evidence on TTS till 4th September 2021. Case reports and series reporting patient-level data were included. Descriptive statistics were reported and compared across patients with different sexes, age groups, vaccines, types of thrombosis, and outcomes.

Intracranial mesenchymal tumor, FET-CREB fusion-positive' occurs primarily in children and young adults and has previously been termed intracranial angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma (AFH) or intracranial myxoid mesenchymal tumor (IMMT). Here we performed genome-wide DNA methylation array profiling of 20 primary intracranial mesenchymal tumors with FET-CREB fusion to further study their ontology. Anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), an aggressive CD30-positive T-cell lymphoma, comprises systemic anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive, and ALK-negative, primary cutaneous and breast implant-associated ALCL. Prognosis of some ALCL subgroups is still unsatisfactory, and already in second line effective treatment options are lacking. To identify genes defining ALCL cell state and dependencies, we here characterize super-enhancer regions by genome-wide H3K27ac ChIP-seq. In addition to known ALCL key regulators, the AP-1-member BATF3 and IL-2 receptor (IL2R)-components are among the top hits. Multiple myeloma (MM) is a malignancy of plasma cells that accounts for approximately 1 to 2 percent of all cancers and about 17% of all hematologic malignancies.

Plasma cells normally produce antibodies and provide a defense mechanism for the body to fight infections.

Antibodies typically consist of two heavy chains (IgG, IgA, IgM, IgD and IgE) and two light chains (kappa and lambda).

Background: The 2014 WHO Classification of ovarian neoplasms introduced a new entity of seromucinous tumors associated with endometriosis. These tumors encompassed a spectrum from benign to malignant and included seromucinous cystadenoma/ cystadenofibroma, seromucinous borderline tumor/atypical proliferative seromucinous tumor and seromucinous carcinoma. However, the 2020 WHO Classification of Female Genital Tumours removed seromucinous carcinomas as a distinct entity and recategorized them as Endometrioid carcinomas with mucinous differentiation. BACKGROUND: Insulinoma is a rare diagnosis in the general population with estimates of 1 in 250,000 people per year. Reports of these pancreatic islet cell tumors are even more unusual in children and adolescents. Chronic hypoglycemia due to an insulinoma often presents with neuroglycopenic symptoms that can easily be overlooked, especially in adolescents where nonspecific complaints are common. This may result in delayed diagnosis with prolonged periods of untreated hypoglycemia and associated complications. The rarity of pediatric insulinoma, vagueness of presenting symptoms, and challenge of tumor localization make insulinoma a true diagnostic quandary for clinicians.
