Introduction. Esophageal variceal bleeding is one of the complications caused by an increase in pressure within the portal vein blood vessels. The gold standard examination for portal pressure is the hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG), but HVPG examination is invasive, involving transjugular catheterization of the hepatic vein. Currently, non-invasive methods for measuring portal hypertension are being developed to predict esophageal varices and esophageal variceal bleeding using spleen stiffness measurements. Stress, anxiety, and depression are often experienced by first-year medical students, but studies assessing these three variables with functional constipation are still limited.

Introduction. Direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) has been developed for treatment hepatitis C virus (HCV). Therapy of HCV using DAA has shown high sustained virologic response (SVR) and shortening duration of therapy. Sofosbuvir-ledipasvir (SOF/LDV) is fixed dose combination tablet of DAAs which recommended for genotype 1, 4, 5, and 6 infected patients. Neuroendocrine activation in the process of ventricular remodeling can be regulated by angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) as well as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. The use of ARNI in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction has been found to be superior to ACE inhibitor. The role of ARNI on cardiac function in STEMI has not been established. Background: Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL) is the amount of water released from the human body into the atmosphere through a diffusion process per unit of time. Changes in TEWL indicate impaired skin barrier function. Exposure to ultraviolet light for an extended period can cause photoaging, characterized by rough and dry skin (xerosis cutis). TEWL will increase significantly in the skin exposed to ultraviolet radiation. This study aims to determine the difference in the TEWL values among male medical students in the sun-exposed and non-sun-exposed skin areas.

Background: Non-pustular annular psoriasis is a rare condition in which a type of plaque psoriasis appears with ring-like lesions and a clearer central appearance. The disease activities in psoriasis may be evaluated clinically. It is essential to provide a more meaningful approach to treatment management.

Case illustration: A 33-year-old woman complained of a one-year history of multiple erythematous, scaly, and annular plaques with central clearing. Some lesions were surrounded by discrete pinpoint papules on several parts of her body. The lesions worsened during seven weeks of topical and systemic therapy.
