The Effect Of Varying Skin Temperature On Sensory Nerve Conductive Velocity, Andrew W. L. Kuo

這個研究的目的是以簡單實用的方法來決定右臂尺骨神經之感覺神經傳導速度與皮膚溫度之間有無直接相互之關係。皮膚溫度是以46TU型皮膚溫度計在腕部與肘部測定。用來記錄感覺神經傳導的室TECA，TE-4肌電圖描繪器。神經的刺激是以反傳導方法於上述之兩點刺激；摘取電極放在小指上。 試驗對象包括13位過去沒有神經系統疾病的人。每一對象右手臂尺骨神經在三種不同周圍環境下測定，即：A.通常手臂溫度　B.在冷卻之後　C.在受熱之後 冷卻是對象將右手臂放入華氏70°（攝氏21.1°）的旋渦浴中15分鐘。受熱是以相似的方法在華氏110°（攝氏43.3°）的水中。 研究所發現在統計學上右手臂皮膚溫度和右手臂尺骨神經之感覺神經傳導速度有意義的相互關係。每升高或降低皮膚溫度攝氏1度，感覺神經之平均速度改變了1.9米/每秒。

การเจริญของอวัยวะย่อยอาหารและการย่อยอาหารของลูกวัวเปลี่ยนแปลงจากภาวะกะเพาะ เดี๋ยวไปเป็นลักษณะสี่กะเพาะของสัตว์เคี้ยวเอี้ยง ลักษณะการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ว่านี้ที่สำคัญก็คือ การเจริญเติบโตอย่างรวดเร็วของกะเพาะส่วนหน้า คือ รูเม็น ริทิ๊คูลั่ม และโอม้าซั่ม ซึ่งดำเนินไป แบบได้สัดส่วนสัมพันธ์กับอวัยวะอื่นของระบบทางเดินอาหาร โภชนาหารเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญที่ควบคุม การเจริญ ความสามารถในการย่อย และหน้าที่ของระบบนี้โดยทั่วไป รายละเอียดในเชิงเปรียบเทียบ การเจริญของส่วนต่าง ๆ ซึ่งเป็นประโยชน์ในการวางแผนการเลี้ยงลูกวัวให้ได้ผลมีอยู่ในบทความนี้ นอกจากนี้ยังมีความรู้ทางสรีรวิทยารวมอยู่ด้วยโดยเฉพาะเรื่องน้ำย่อย แหล่งที่ผลิตและหน้าที่ของมัน

The major objective of the work was to clarify some of the adaptive mechanisms that a common widespread species would show as a possible requirement for survival in its natural habitats. Analysis of various populations of Xanthium (cocklebur) indicated differences in chlorophyll levels and leaf chloroplasts ultrastructure between populations. The study also revealed some insight into intrapopulational variation in dark requirements for flowering of selected populations. In addition, caloric values of dried leaf material of cocklebur were analyzed for interpopulational differences. It was evident that higher chlorophyll levels are correlated with increase in latitude of origin and a corresponding decrease …

The buffalo (Bubalus bvbalis) be- longs to the bovidae family, and has been domesticated in India, Malasia, Thailand and Egypt for a long time. It occupies an important place amongst the domestic animals of the tropics as a provider of dairy produce, beef and draught power. Its greastest asset as a domestic animal is its ability to subsist on the coarsest fodder and to convert it most efficiently into animal produce. High dietary levels of rapeseed oil containing high and low erucic acid and soybean oil were fed to ducks from one day of age through the early growing period. Clinical signs and mortality, hematology, gross and histopathologic changes were studied. The fallowing results were obtained : 1. Fatty infiltration occurred in the heart, skeletal muscles, spleen and kidney in ducks fed the high erucic acid rapeseed oil ration. Plaque Formation Of Tembusu Virus In Llc-Mk2 Cells, Watana Wa Tanawijarn

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

Propagation of Tembusu virus was studied in LLC-MK2 cell culture. This culture supported the multiplilication of the virus but showed no CPE after infection (20 days observation). The virus formed clear plagues in LLC-MK2 cells when concentration of glutamine and amino acids were reduced. Vitamins were required for increasing numbers of plaques. The LD50 in suckling mice by intracerebral inoculation was equal to 0.6 PFU on the basis of plaque assay in MK2 cells. Study of effect of various concentrations of serum in the first overlay media on plaque formation showed that plaque formation in MK2 cells was best in …

This study was concerned with the problem of depression among elderly patients following surgery. The purpose of the study was to find out if older men following transurethral prostatectomy experienced a higher level of depression than normal elderly people in the general population. An attempt was made in the study to suggest factors in the patients' illness or environment which may have influenced the amount of depression they experienced.

Thirty patients, sixty-five years or older, were included in the study sample. Depression was measured by a self-rating depression scale (Zung) three weeks following their operations. Other facts about the patients …

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of semantic associational strength (SAS) upon adult aphasics' auditory comprehension abilities. Twenty-eight adult aphasics (25 males and 3 females) and 12 normal control subjects were presented three experimental tasks, each containing 45 items. Experimental task 1 contained single word picture sets of high SAS, moderate SAS, and low SAS words. Experimental task 2 contained two word picture sets of high, moderate, and low SAS words, and experimental task 3 contained three word picture sets of high, moderate, and low SAS words. Frank Brooks was born in Fayette County, WV, but grew up in Carter County, KY, in the early 1900s. He attended a one room school house through the third grade. Mr. Brooks began working in coal mines with his father in Borderland, WV, when he was 13 years old. In the audio clip provided, he discusses his first time in a coal mine. He focuses on how he tried to appear bigger than he was in order to be able to work.
