Journal of Electrochemistry

The DNA-multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)/glassy carbon (GC) electrode was prepared by modifying the DNA functionalized MWCNTs composite on a GC electrode. A novel non-enzymatic H2O2 sensing electrode was fabricated by electrodepositing Pt nanoparticles on the DNA-MWCNTs/GC electrode. The modified electrodes were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The response properties of the sensing electrode to H2O2 were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The electrochemical impedance spectrum(EIS) of ferrocene(Fc) at a rotating glassy carbon(GC) electrode and its interaction with calf thymus DNA in Tris-NaCl buffer solution(pH=7.2) have been investigated by using electrochemical techniques such as rotating disk electrode(RDE),EIS and its data fitting.A plateau of the limiting current for the voltammetric curve and two capacitance arches obtained at the rotating GC electrode are exhibited.The interaction of Fc with DNA is represented by the decrease of limiting diffusion current and the increase of electrochemical reaction resistances with the increase of DNA concentration,respectively.On the other hand,based on the theoretical analysis and data fitting of RDE and …

Oxidation And Adsorption Of Deoxyribonucleic Acid At Highly Ordered Pyrolytic Graphite And Glass Carbon Electrode, Jianzhang Zhou, Lingling Wu, Jin Luo, Zhonghua Lin

It is shown that calf thymus DNA(CT DNA) can be adsorbed at highly ordered pyrolytic graphite(HOPG) electrode and detected by differential pulse voltammetry(DPV) and electrochemical atomic force microscopy(ECAFM). It is found that controlled potential pre-polarization influences largely the adsorption of dsDNA while it has little influence on ssDNA. It is demonstrated that ECAFM is useful to exploit adsorption of DNA at HOPGE. The pattern of adsorption of DNA at HOPG electrode that fits best with the experimental data is proposed.
