1995-96 Women's Basketball Media Guide, Maine Sports Information Office

General University of Maine Publications

The University of Maine simply dominated games at times last season and there are plenty of reasons why 1995-96 can be a repeat performance. First, Cindy Blodgett, a 5-foot-9 guard, who finished 31st in the nation and second among first-year players in scoring, returns for three more years. She averaged 20.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.3 steals per game while earning Kodak District I All-American and North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Year honors last season.

Second, UMaine’s other two All-Conference selections, 6-4 Stacey Porrini, and 6-0 Stephanie Guidi will also be back in 1995-96. In fact, four of five …

When taking a look at the 1995-96 Black Bear basketball team it is easier to note who will not be there as opposed to who will be, because of the large number of returning players. Eighth-year head coach Rudy Keeling returns four of five starters as well as another player with over 25 career starts under his belt. Six of UMaine's top eight scorers and five of its best seven rebounders will be back from a team that was one game shy of finishing · among the …
