Problem

This study explores the relationship between leader practices, peer collaboration, acknowledgment towards the leader, employee development, work environment, and identification with the company’s objectives with employee satisfaction at the Good Hope Clinic, during 2009.

Methodology

An adaptation of Merck, Sharp, & Dohme’s questionnaire was used to measure organizational climate. The instrument measures six dimensions of organizational climate: leader practices, peer collaboration, acknowledgment towards the leader, employee development, work environment, and identification with the company’s objectives. This study examines the leadership of principals who work in schools which have been identified as having a large student population living in poverty and have a record of sustained academic success as measured on standardized tests. To date no study has been undertaken with respect to Seventh-day Adventist senior college and university presidents’ actual and expected roles as perceived by the administrative team members and governing board chairs of these institutions. Twelve-Month Administrative Leadership Development Program At The University Of Missouri: Perceived Outcomes By Staff Participants And Participants' Supervisors, Lea-Ann Morton

This study examined the perceived outcomes of a national institute or internship program focused on leadership development at a postsecondary institution by conducting in-depth, qualitative interviews with participants who completed the program and supervisors who oversee these participants in the workplace. The program selected for study was the Administrative Leadership Development Program (ALDP) hosted by the University of Missouri. The perceived outcomes by both populations converged and were identified as Feeling Valued, Relationship Building, Self-Awareness, and Skill Development. Effective-schools research has demonstrated that a building level administrator’s leadership practices contribute to the success or failure of change efforts and impact school culture and student achievement. Research in this area has focused primarily on comparing high and low performing schools and the various antecedent/context variables of such schools. This study examined schools with annual achievement gains above and below the state’s average gain in student performance and sought to determine if there were significant differences in school antecedent/context variables, leadership practices, and mediating variables between these schools.
