While there is considerable academic research on the intersection of comprehensive plans, finance policies, zoning policies and how these factors influence real estate developers' choice of what land to develop and what buildings to construct on that land, little is understood about whether these three variables promote or hinder real estate developers' choice of whether to build communities that promote healthy living. The Cully neighborhood is situated in the Northeast quadrant of Portland, Oregon. It is 2.75 square mile plot of land and home to roughly 13,000 people. In addition to being one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Portland, it is the most densely populated, with the smallest amount of parkland per capita. Over the last two decades, home value has increased 203% in Cully, compared to a 90% citywide increase. Amidst these development trends are stories of incredible resilience, resistance and activism from the affected community. African American high school students are underrepresented in study abroad programs, and their lack of intercultural skills and international understanding can impede their personal and professional development, and limit their career opportunities. The purpose of this descriptive qualitative case study was to explore the influence of intercultural experiences through study abroad and immersion programs on African American high school students' intercultural competence. Phase change materials (PCMs) have great potential for applications in energy efficient buildings. In this study, an innovative method of macro-encapsulation of PCM using hollow steel balls (HSB) was developed and the thermal and mechanical performance of PCM-HSB concrete was examined. The macro-encapsulation system (PCM-HSB) was attached with a metal clamp (c) for better mechanical interlocking with the mortar matrix. The latent heat of PCM-HSB-c that can be acquired is approximately 153.1 J/g, which can be considered to rank highly among PCM composites. Imagined Sceneries is a work written by composer Dr. Koji Nakano of Burapha University, Thailand for two sopranos, koto, light percussion, narrations, soundscapes recorded in Kyoto, Japan in December 2015, and digital projections of Ebina Masao’s 1953 print series Tale of Genji. Imagined Sceneries’ reimagining and “re-sounding” of Heian Kyoto relies on a balance between what is imagined and what is experienced in performance. Its many elements collectively explore multiple layers of Japanese histories, soundscapes, environments, and sensibilities. Using Michel de Certeau’s concepts of the city, this thesis journeys through Nakano’s imagined spaces.

One of the most efficient and environmentally friendly methods for preventing a landslide on a slope is to vegetate it. Vegetation-pervious concretes have a promising potential for soil protection. In this study, the vegetation-pervious concrete with low alkalinity was developed and studied. Combined with a grid beam structure system, the stability and strength between the vegetation-pervious concrete and base soil are believed to be enhanced effectively. For improving plant adaptability, the alkalinity of concrete can be decreased innovatively by adding a self-designed admixture into the cement paste. Venice is deteriorating. The fragile city is crumbling, and eventually will be swallowed into the water which surrounds it. Besides the prospect of sinking, the infrastructure is damaged weekly by the cruise ships which visit the city and account for about 2 million tourists every year. Typically, these ships produce 50 tons of garbage, 210,000 gallons of sewage, and 35,000 gallons of oil-contaminated water. That being said, these floating cities contribute to about 20% of harmful emissions in coastal and port cities. Redundant historical industrial sites, or postindustrial landscapes, face numerous preservation challenges. Functionally obsolete, and often derelict and decaying, these cultural landscapes often retain only a fraction of their original infrastructure. With their historical interconnections made indistinct by their physical separation and obscured by the passage of time, surviving remnants are isolated and disjunct, confounding both their legibility and their consideration for formal historic preservation. วิทยานิพนธ์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ในการศึกษาภูมินิเวศ พลวัตและนิเวศบริการของนาข้าว เพื่อทำความเข้าใจประโยชน์ของนาข้าวต่อการดำรงชีวิตของมนุษย์ รวมถึงเสนอแนวทางพัฒนาบนฐานทรัพยากรให้เกิดความยั่งยืนในชนบทต่อไป โดยดำเนินการรวบรวมข้อมูลพื้นฐานของพื้นที่บ้านโพนงาม ตำบลโพนงาม อำเภอโกสุมพิสัย จังหวัดมหาสารคาม ร่วมกับวิธีการเก็บข้อมูลภาคสนาม โดยการสังเกตการณ์แบบมีส่วนร่วมและไม่มีส่วนร่วม เพื่อทราบถึงข้อมูลกิจกรรมที่เกิดขึ้น และการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกเพื่อให้เห็นข้อแตกต่างในด้านนิเวศบริการของการทำนาปีและนาปรัง ผลการวิจัยพบว่าการทำนาทั้งสองรูปแบบมีกระบวนการและให้ผลด้านนิเวศบริการแตกต่างกัน โดยการทำนาปียังคงมีกระบวนการทำนาที่สอดคล้องกับพลวัตของภูมินิเวศแบบแห้งสลับเปียก ซึ่งรักษาความหลากหลายของนิเวศบริการต่อการดำรงชีวิตของชาวบ้าน แต่การทำนาปรังมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงกระบวนการทำนาที่ไม่สอดคล้องกับพลวัตของภูมินิเวศ ทำให้ความหลากหลายของนิเวศบริการลดลง จึงสรุปได้ว่าการทำนาปีสอดคล้องกับพลวัตของภูมินิเวศ ให้ประโยชน์และนิเวศบริการที่หลากหลายต่อการดำรงชีวิตของชาวบ้านเมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับนาปรัง

การประเมินหลังการใช้งานเป็นเครื่องมือที่นิยมใช้ศึกษาพื้นที่ที่มีการออกแบบและเกิดการใช้งานแล้วว่าเป็นไปตามวัตถุประสงค์ของการออกแบบและมีปัญหาเกิดขึ้นมากน้อยเพียงใด พื้นที่ศึกษา คือ ลานหน้าวัดพระธาตุพนม อำเภอธาตุพนม จังหวัดนครพนม เป็นพื้นที่ที่มีความสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์และวัฒนธรรมของจังหวัดนครพนม ทำให้ได้รับการปรับปรุงภูมิทัศน์เรื่อยมาและในครั้งล่าสุดเมื่อปี 2554 เปิดให้มีการใช้งานในปี 2559 ดังนั้นการวิจัยครั้งนี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อทำการประเมินหลังการใช้งาน พื้นที่ลานหน้าวัดพระธาตุพนม อำเภอธาตุพนม จังหวัดนครพนม และเสนอเป็นแนวทางในการพัฒนาและปรับปรุงพื้นที่ลานหน้าวัดพระธาตุพนมในครั้งต่อไป การเก็บข้อมูลได้จากการศึกษาเอกสาร การสังเกตการณ์ การสอบถามคนท้องถิ่นและนักท่องเที่ยว และการสัมภาษณ์เจ้าหน้าที่ที่เกี่ยวข้อง โดยมีประเด็นการวิเคราะห์ 4 ด้าน คือ ด้านประวัติศาสตร์และวัฒนธรรม ด้านนันทนาการและการพักผ่อน ด้านการท่องเที่ยว ด้านสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวก ผลการศึกษาพบว่า สิ่งที่ควรให้ความสำคัญเป็นลำดับแรก คือ การสร้างการรับรู้และตระหนักถึงความสำคัญในเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ของพระธาตุพนม และการพัฒนาปรับปรุงในด้านสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวก การสร้างสภาพแวดล้อมที่เหมาะสมต่อการใช้งานและการเข้าถึง ด้านที่พบว่าได้รับความพึงพอใจเป็นส่วนใหญ่ คือ ด้านนันทนาการและการพักผ่อน ซึ่งสามารถใช้งานได้อย่างเต็มประสิทธิภาพต่อพื้นที่และกิจกรรมที่ได้จัดเตรียมไว้ เพียงต้องเพิ่มร่มเงาในบางบริเวณ ในด้านการท่องเที่ยว ได้รับความนิยมและความพึงพอใจจากทั้งนักท่องเที่ยวและคนในท้องถิ่น การใช้พื้นที่และกิจกรรมสามารถสอดคล้องกันไปในแนวทางที่ดี เพียงต้องเพิ่มการแนะนำให้เป็นที่รู้จักและเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับสถานที่ให้ดียิ่งขึ้น

โครงหลังคาสำเร็จรูป : โครงถักเหล็กชุบกัลวาไนซ์, เพิ่มวิทย์ เตชะทวีวัฒน์

เดิมทีนิยมใช้ไม้ทำโครงหลังคาเนื่องจากมีกลสมบัติกำลังรับแรงดัดได้ดี แต่ปัจจุบันไม้มีราคาสูงและไม่ทนทาน จึงใช้เหล็กรูปพรรณแทน แต่เหล็กรูปพรรณมีกลสมบัติรับแรงดัดน้อยกว่าไม้เมื่อเปรียบเทียบด้วยน้ำหนักของวัสดุ จึงจำเป็นต้องเพิ่มค้ำยัน เพื่อให้สามารถใช้เหล็กรูปพรรณที่มีหน้าตัดเล็กลงและส่งผลให้โครงหลังคามีน้ำหนักเบาลงได้ อีกทั้งเหล็กรูปพรรณเกิดสนิมได้ง่าย จึงใช้เหล็กชุบกัลวาไนซ์ที่กันสนิมได้แทน อีกทั้งน้ำหนักเบา ราคาถูก และยังรับแรงดึงและแรงอัดได้มากกว่าจึงทำให้ลดหน้าตัดชิ้นส่วนลงได้ แต่ต้องเปลี่ยนรูปแบบโครงหลังคาเป็นโครงถักเพราะเหล็กชุบกัลวาไนซ์รับแรงดัดได้น้อย เหล็กชุบกัลวาไนซ์จะผลิตจากโรงงานเป็นแผ่นเรียบและม้วนกับแกนเหล็ก สำหรับส่งไปตัดและพับตามรูปแบบที่อีกโรงงานหนึ่ง จากนั้นจะขนส่งชิ้นส่วนเหล็กชุบกัลวาไนซ์ไปยังสถานที่ก่อสร้าง และกองเก็บรอการประกอบโครงหลังคา ในการประกอบโครงถักต้องการพื้นที่ที่เรียบสม่ำเสมอ เมื่อประกอบโครงถักแล้วเสร็จ จะใช้แรงคนยกขึ้นไปติดตั้งจนพร้อมมุงหลังคา จากกรณีศึกษาบ้านเดี่ยว พบปัญหา ที่กองเก็บชิ้นส่วนที่มีจำนวนถึง 119 ชิ้น สำหรับประกอบโครงถัก 6 โครง และยาวเท่ากับขนาดของหลังคามักกีดขวางการทำงานอื่น ทำให้ชิ้นส่วนเกิดกระทบกระแทกและได้รับความเสียหาย อีกทั้งปัจจุบันต้องใช้พื้นที่ถนนเป็นที่ประกอบโครงถัก จึงมักมีปัญหาเนื่องจากถนนเป็นงานลำดับท้ายของโครงการ จึงเสนอแนะให้ใช้โครงถักที่ประกอบจากสถานที่อื่น เป็นโครงถักสำเร็จรูปที่มีความยาวสอดคล้องกับข้อกำหนดการขนส่ง โดยเสนอโครงถักสำเร็จรูป 3 รูปแบบ ได้แก่แบ่งความยาวของโครงถักเดิม 6 โครง ออกเป็นสองส่วน นำไปติดตั้งในลักษณะวางขนานกันเช่นเคย ซึ่งประกอบจากโครงถัก 12 โครง จำนวน 119 ชิ้น อีกรูปแบบหนึ่งแบ่งโครงถักเป็นสองส่วน แต่ติดตั้งในลักษณะวางขนานกันเป็นฟันปลา โดยต้องเพิ่มชิ้นส่วนขึ้นเล็กน้อยสำหรับโครงถัก 12 โครง จำนวน 151 ชิ้น รูปแบบสุดท้ายเปลี่ยนรูปแบบโครงถักใหม่ โดยติดตั้งตามแนวตะเข้สันของหลังคา ซึ่งใช้ชิ้นส่วนสำหรับประกอบเป็นโครงถัก 8 โครง จำนวน 106 ชิ้น จะเห็นได้ว่า การประกอบโครงถักเหล็กชุบกัลวาไนซ์สามารถกระทำได้ที่โรงงาน และขนส่งไปยังสถานที่ก่อสร้างได้ โดยทั้งคงรูปแบบโครงถักเดิม หรือเพิ่มชิ้นส่วนขึ้นเล็กน้อย รวมทั้งออกแบบโครงถักเป็นโครงหลังคาสำเร็จรูปรูปแบบอื่น

จากยุทธศาสตร์การพัฒนาประเทศไทยให้เป็นศูนย์กลางสุขภาพนานาชาติ ส่งผลให้มีการปรับปรุงและพัฒนาโรงพยาบาลในประเทศไทยให้มีความทันสมัยได้มาตรฐานในระดับสากล เช่นเดียวกันกับโรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ สภากาชาดไทย หนึ่งในโรงพยาบาลชั้นนำของประเทศที่ได้สร้างอาคารภูมิสิริมังคลานุสรณ์ขึ้นเพื่อตอบสนองการให้บริการ โดยอาคารดังกล่าวมีการย้ายเข้าของหอผู้ป่วย และห้องผ่าตัดจากนอกอาคารเข้าสู่ภายในอาคาร นอกจากนี้ยังมีการปรับปรุงอาคารระหว่างการใช้งานส่งผลให้มีการโยกย้ายหอผู้ป่วย และห้องผ่าตัดไปสู่พื้นที่ชั่วคราวขณะทำการปรับปรุง จึงได้ทำการศึกษาขั้นตอน และปัญหาในการย้ายหอผู้ป่วย และห้องผ่าตัดทั้ง 4 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ กลุ่มกรณีย้ายหอผู้ป่วยภายในอาคาร กลุ่มกรณีย้ายหอผู้ป่วยจากภายนอกอาคาร กรณีย้ายห้องผ่าตัดภายในอาคาร กรณีย้ายห้องผ่าตัดจากภายนอกอาคาร โดยการสังเกต บันทึกข้อมูลในเหตุการณ์ และสอบถามผู้เกี่ยวข้องกับการย้ายหอผู้ป่วย จากนั้นนำข้อมูลมาวิเคราะห์ สรุปและอภิปรายผล จากการศึกษาพบว่า เมื่อวิเคราะห์ตามกิจกรรมที่ปฏิบัติสามารถแบ่งขั้นตอนการย้ายหอผู้ป่วยได้เป็น 5 ขั้นตอน ได้แก่ ขั้นตอนการวางแผน ขั้นตอนการย้ายของ ขั้นตอนการเตรียมผู้ป่วย ขั้นตอนการย้ายผู้ป่วย และขั้นตอนการตรวจสอบและส่งคืนพื้นที่ ในขณะที่การย้ายห้องผ่าตัดมี 3 ขั้นตอน ได้แก่ ขั้นตอนการวางแผน ขั้นตอนการย้ายของ และขั้นตอนการตรวจสอบและส่งคืนพื้นที่ แต่การย้ายห้องคลอด และห้องผ่าตัดคลอดมีการปฏิบัติ 5 ขั้นตอนเช่นเดียวกับการย้ายหอผู้ป่วย ทั้งนี้แต่ละกิจกรรมในขั้นตอนจะมีทั้งกิจกรรมที่ปฏิบัติเช่นเดียวกัน และกิจกรรมที่ปฏิบัติต่างกัน รวมถึงการเตรียมเครื่องมือในการย้ายของ และย้ายผู้ป่วยก็มีความแตกต่างกัน ขึ้นอยู่กับปัจจัยที่ต้องคำนึงถึง นอกจากนี้เมื่อวิเคราะห์จากช่วงเวลาในการปฏิบัติงาน พบว่าช่วงเวลาที่ดีที่สุดในการย้ายหอผู้ป่วยคือ ช่วงเช้า และเมื่อวิเคราะห์จากระยะเวลาการย้ายของ พบว่าห้องคลอดและผ่าตัดคลอดจะใช้เวลามากกว่าหน่วยงานอื่น ๆ ส่วนการย้ายหอผู้ป่วยวิกฤตจากภายนอกอาคารจะใช้เวลามากกว่าการย้ายหอผู้ป่วยอื่น ๆ นอกจากนี้ในการศึกษาปัญหาที่พบในขั้นตอนการย้ายของ และขั้นตอนการย้ายผู้ป่วย พบว่ามีปัญหาทั้งหมด 7 ลักษณะ ได้แก่ การขนย้ายล่าช้า การขนย้ายหยุดชะงัก ของเสียหาย ผู้ใช้อาคารไม่สะดวก ปิดงานไม่ได้ หน่วยงานเปิดให้บริการได้ไม่สมบูรณ์ และเกิดความเสี่ยงต่อผู้ป่วย เป็นผลมาจาก 7 สาเหตุ ได้แก่ การจัดการ การประสานงาน การควบคุมงาน การวางแผน อุบัติเหตุ คุณภาพบุคคลากร ลักษณะทางกายภาพอาคาร และอาการผู้ป่วย จากการศึกษาและวิเคราะห์ผล สรุปได้ว่าการย้ายหอผู้ป่วย และห้องผ่าตัดมีขั้นตอนในการย้ายที่แตกต่างกัน ซึ่งเมื่อมีการย้ายหอผู้ป่วย และห้องผ่าตัด ปัจจัยที่ต้องคำนึงถึงในการวางแผนการย้าย และการเตรียมเครื่องมือ ได้แก่ ประเภทหน่วยงานตามลักษณะการให้บริการลักษณะการย้ายแบ่งตามในอาคารและนอกอาคาร อาการผู้ป่วย พื้นที่ต้นทางเนื่องจากเส้นทางในการย้าย ความพร้อมของพื้นที่ จำนวนบุคคลากร จำนวนรถพยาบาล ความพร้อมของผู้ป่วย จำนวนเครื่องมือแพทย์ที่ใช้ในการย้ายผู้ป่วย จำนวนผู้ป่วยหนัก …

ในปัจจุบันมีความเข้าใจอย่างกว้างขวางว่า ในการอนุรักษ์สถาปัตยกรรมจำเป็นต้องเข้าใจสภาพแวดล้อมโดยรอบแหล่งมรดกวัฒนธรรม (setting) มากกว่าการพิจารณาตัวอาคารแต่เพียงอย่างเดียว อีกทั้งโครงสร้างมรดกวัฒนธรรมประกอบจากพื้นที่ที่มีความหลากหลายและมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างเป็นพลวัต รวมถึงความสัมพันธ์ของสภาพแวดล้อมโดยรอบแหล่งมรดกวัฒนธรรม สิ่งต่าง ๆ เหล่านี้ สามารถเป็นที่มาของการตระหนักถึงคุณค่าของเรื่องราวที่เกิดขึ้นบนสภาพแวดล้อม เพื่อการนำเสนอ (presentation) และการสื่อความหมาย (interpretation) ของพื้นที่แหล่งมรดกวัฒนธรรมได้ โดยวัดแม่พระลูกประคำ (กาลหว่าร์) ถือเป็นกรณีศึกษาที่สำคัญในเรื่องการศึกษาสภาพแวดล้อม เนื่องจากเป็นพื้นที่ที่มีการตั้งถิ่นฐานของผู้คนมายาวนานกว่า 250 ปี ประกอบกับบันทึกและเอกสารต่าง ๆ ที่ค้นพบ ช่วยให้เข้าใจสภาพแวดล้อมโดยรอบของพื้นที่ได้อย่างดี การวิจัยนี้เป็นการศึกษาและวิเคราะห์หลักฐานชั้นต้นต่าง ๆ ของวัดแม่พระลูกประคำ (กาลหว่าร์) อันประกอบด้วย แผนที่เก่า ภาพถ่ายในอดีต เรื่องราวของผู้คนที่มีการบันทึกไว้ และงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง ผู้วิจัยนำหลักฐานเหล่านี้มาใช้ในการวิเคราะห์สภาพแวดล้อมโดยรอบวัดแม่พระลูกประคำ (กาลหว่าร์) เพื่อนำเสนอเรื่องราวที่มีคุณค่าของสภาพแวดล้อม และปัจจัยที่ส่งเสริมให้เกิดคุณค่าของสภาพแวดล้อมที่เคยดำรงอยู่ในอดีต มาใช้ในการนำเสนอและการสื่อความหมาย จากการศึกษา ผู้วิจัยค้นพบว่าวัดแม่พระลูกประคำ (กาลหว่าร์) มีเรื่องราวที่มีคุณค่าและควรได้รับการสื่อความหมายที่จะช่วยให้เข้าใจถึงสภาพแวดล้อมวัดแม่พระลูกประคำ (กาลหว่าร์) ตลอดเวลากว่า 250 ปี ได้อย่างดีจำนวน 5 เรื่องอันประกอบด้วย บ้านสำโรง ค่ายแม่พระลูกประคำ Notre Dame du Rosaire บุ่งกุ่ยและกุหลาบ และ กาลหว่าร์และวัดสาขา สภาพแวดล้อมเกิดขึ้นจากองค์ประกอบต่าง ๆ ทั้งที่มองเห็นได้และมองเห็นไม่ได้ ซึ่งมีความสัมพันธ์กันเกิดเป็นสภาพแวดล้อมขึ้นโดยมีอาคารโบสถ์วัดแม่พระลูกประคำ (กาลหว่าร์) เป็นอนุสรณ์สถานที่บอกเล่าเรื่องราวความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้คนที่ดำรงอยู่ในสภาพแวดล้อมได้อย่างสมบูรณ์ และส่วนท้ายงานวิจัย ผู้วิจัยเสนอแนวทางในการนำเสนอและสื่อความหมายสภาพแวดล้อมออกเป็น 2 ด้าน คือ ด้านกายภาพ และด้านสังคม และข้อพิจารณาแนวทางในการสื่อความหมายผ่านแก่นเรือง ซึ่งจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการตระหนักถึงคุณค่าของประวัติศาสตร์และสภาพแวดล้อมโดยรอบวัดแม่พระลูกประคำ (กาลหว่าร์) ต่อไปในอนาคต

Antibiotics are added to agricultural fields worldwide through wastewater irrigation or manure application, resulting in antibiotic contamination and elevated environmental risks to terrestrial environments and humans. Most studies focused on antibiotic detection in different matrices or were conducted in a hydroponic environment. Little is known about the transfer of antibiotics from antibiotic-contaminated irrigation wastewater and animal manure to agricultural soil and edible crops. Recently, the requirement to continuously collect bioaerosol samples using shorter response times has called for the use of real-time detection. The decreased cost of this technology makes it available for a wider application than military use, and makes it accessible to pharmaceutical and academic research. In this case study, real-time bioaerosol monitors (RBMs) were applied in elementary school classrooms—a densely occupied environment—along with upper-room ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) devices. It is critical to find suitable setting parameters for designing a hybrid solar-assisted ground-source heat pump system in the practical engineering application, but the heat pump performance is unpredictable after many years of operation. This paper used 2000 sets of performance data collected from solar-assisted GSHP systems that keep operating over 20 years to simulate long term used heat pump with a professional software called GeoStar. Adopted the classification and regression tree (CART) method, the design of solar energy collector areas can be predicted.
