“Female victims continue to be particularly affected by trafficking in persons. In 2018, for every 10 victims detected globally, about five were adult women and two were girls. About one third of the overall detected victims were children, both girls (19 per cent) and boys (15 per cent), while 20 per cent were adult men. This issue brief discusses the debate surrounding Rule 50 of the Olympic Charter and athletes’ right to protest emphasizing the current importance of the matter concerning the recently concluded Tokyo 2021 Games. First, it discusses those who argue for the rule such as the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the IOC itself, and athletes such as Feyisa Lilesa, Gwen Berry, and Race Imboden. China’s recent strident and aggressive foreign relations have earned Chinese diplomats the title of “wolf warriors.” These attitudes have been partially excused due to China’s successful response to many recent global crises as compared to Western states. Along with the US struggling to maintain its spheres of influence in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, China now poses a real threat to American primacy. How will China balance its newfound confidence with enduring insecurities? Is this “wolf warrior” diplomacy a valid criticism, or just an ignorant foreign perspective on how China should behave?

The discourse of politicians provides us with an important insight into a country’s notion of self and the way in which collective memory is constructed. Through a comparative analysis of speeches performed by Charles de Gaulle and Emmanuel Macron, I will explore the construction of collective memory in France and how this relates to French foreign policy-making.This study will argue that the memory of the Second World War has played a significant role in French foreign policy discourses and show that leaders continue to draw upon the past to justify their policy decisions today, particularly during discourses concerning European integration.

What are Beijing’s intentions behind the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)? China’s foreign policy efforts between 2010 and 2017 are analyzed by comparing five indicators to BRI project spending to understand the goals driving the initiative. Five indicators are used to compare how China’s interest between Belt participants and Road participants: image building, economic volatility, public opinion, energy resources, and geostrategic location. These indicators are applied to four case study BRI participants to rate China’s interest and then compare that to overall BRI project spending. We provide an overview of major developments in multi-and plurilateral trade agreements over the last twenty years with a focus on the implications for agricultural and food markets. We take stock of what has been accomplished in market integration, remaining obstacles to trade, events that have changed the trade landscape, and emerging issues. Agricultural tariffs have fallen through commitments made in the Uruguay Round Agreement on Agriculture and through the proliferation of regional trade agreements (RTAs). Nevertheless, agricultural trade remains distorted with some extremely high tariffs. RTAs have achieved progress on nontariff measures and other beyond-the- border frictions. World Trade …

With the growing number of international development projects not meeting the triple constraint requirements every year, organizational leaders exceed their budgets and increase schedule delays. Some project managers lack strategies to minimize the negative impact of these constraints, resulting in projects that exceed their budgets and have more delays. President Joe Biden’s rhetorical style when talking to the American people about the conflict in Ukraine is one which can be compared to that of President George W. Bush in regards to the perpetrators of the September 11, 2001 attacks. During Biden’s speech about Ukraine in March of 2022, he conveyed an idea parallel to that which Bush conveyed: an enemy of the United States has committed a transgression which can’t go unpunished, and the “free world” needs to fight back at any cost. Panama and Nicaragua have both recently changed their recognition of statehood from Taiwan, formally known as the Republic of China, to China, formally known as the People’s Republic of China. Panama and Nicaragua are only a part of a larger global community that is turning away from Taiwan and towards China, as China grows as an economic, political, and military superpower. สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มุ่งศึกษาบทบาทของสหรัฐฯ ในฐานะที่เป็นตัวกลางในการไกล่เกลี่ยความขัดแย้งระหว่างญี่ปุ่นและเกาหลีใต้ จนนำไปสู่ข้อตกลงว่าด้วยหญิงบำเรอ เมื่อปี ค.ศ.2015 โดยต้องการศึกษาสาเหตุที่สหรัฐฯ เข้ามามีบทบาทมากขึ้นในภูมิภาคเอเชีย ห้วงปี ค.ศ.2009-2017 โดยเฉพาะการเป็นตัวกลางในการแก้ไขข้อพิพาทกรณีหญิงบำเรอ และสาเหตุที่สหรัฐฯ เลือกแก้ไขความขัดแย้งกรณีหญิงบำเรอ ทั้งนี้ ผู้วิจัยได้ใช้งานของ David A. บทความวิจัยฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยที่ทำให้ซาอุดิอาระเบียตัดสินใจตัดความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตกับกาตาร์ ระหว่าง ค.ศ. 2017 - 2021 โดยใช้แนวคิดมหาอำนาจในระดับภูมิภาค การศึกษาพบว่าซาอุดิอาระเบียใช้ความเป็นมหาอำนาจกำหนดทิศทางการเมืองทั้งหมดในภูมิภาคตะวันออกกลางและไม่ต้องการให้กาตาร์แสดงศักยภาพและบทบาทในทุกมิติเกินหน้าซาอุดิอาระเบีย กล่าวคือ หลังทศวรรษ 2000 เป็นต้นมา กาตาร์ดำเนินนโยบายต่างประเทศเพื่อยกระดับบทบาทของตนในภูมิภาคตะวันออกกลาง ทำให้ซาอุดิอาระเบียมองว่าเป็นความพยายามที่จะขยายอิทธิพลแข่งกับตน การตัดความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตกับกาตาร์ในครั้งนี้ถือเป็นการแสดงถึงความเหนือกว่าทางอำนาจ โดยใช้มาตรการลงโทษขั้นเด็ดขาด เพื่อรักษาไว้ซึ่งอำนาจ อิทธิพล และผลประโยชน์ของซาอุดิอาระเบีย และเป็นการจัดระเบียบภูมิภาคตะวันออกกลางเสียใหม่เพื่อให้กาตาร์กลับมาอยู่ในวงล้อมอำนาจและปฏิบัติตามแนวทางของซาอุดิอาระเบีย

สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษาภารกิจกองทัพอากาศในการบรรเทาสาธารณภัยร่วมกับหน่วยงานอื่นๆ ในประเทศรวมทั้งประเทศลาว และวิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสองประเทศ จากกรอบแนวคิดภารกิจนิยมใหม่มีแนวคิดเรื่องการบูรณาการ มีการดำเนินการข้ามพรมแดนของรัฐ มีการจัดตั้งหน่วยงานเข้ามาดำเนินการในการปฏิบัติงานเพื่อให้สำเร็จตามเป้าหมาย มีกระบวนการไหลรินมีเริ่มจากความร่วมมือร่วมจนพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์มาเป็นการปฏิบัติการร่วม ผลการศึกษาพบว่ากองทัพอากาศมีบทบาทหน้าที่ในการตอบสนองนโยบายรัฐบาลและปฏิบัติตามข้อตกลงอาเซียนว่าด้วยการจัดการภัยพิบัติและการตอบโต้สถานการณ์ฉุกเฉิน (AADMER) โดยกองทัพอากาศพัฒนากำลังทางอากาศในการปฏิบัติการร่วมกับหน่วยงานรัฐบาลและต่างประเทศ อย่างกรณีศึกษาตั้งแต่ ปี พ.ศ.2561-2566 จากเหตุการณ์อุทกภัยใหญ่ที่ประเทศลาว และเหตุการณ์ปัญหาหมอกควันข้ามพรมแดน การศึกษาได้ข้อสรุปว่า ในปี พ.ศ.2561-2564 ที่เกิดเหตุการณ์อุทกภัยใหญ่ที่ประเทศลาว รัฐบาลไทยได้มีส่วนร่วมในการช่วยเหลือโดยกองทัพอากาศได้นำอากาศยานไปลำเลียงสิ่งของอุปโภคและบริโภค ในปี พ.ศ.2562-2564 เหตุการณ์ปัญหาหมอกควันข้ามพรมแดน ที่หมอกควันส่วนหนึ่งมากจากประเทศลาว รัฐบาลไทยได้ขอความร่วมมือร่วมผ่านทางเลขาธิการอาเซียนเพื่อขอความร่วมมือประเทศลาว และกองทัพอากาศมีส่วนร่วมในการแก้ไขปัญหาหมอกควัน ในปี 2565-2566 จากความร่วมมือร่วมพัฒนากลายเป็นการปฏิบัติการร่วม ที่เริ่มจากกองทัพอากาศไทยและกองทัพอากาศลาวมีการประชุมเกี่ยวกับการบรรเทาสาธารณภัยจนนำไปสู่การฝึกร่วมประหว่างสองประเทศ จากกรอบทฤษฎีที่ใช้วิเคราะห์กรณีศึกษาดังกล่าว ทำให้เห็นถึงการพัฒนาจากความร่วมมือร่วมมาเป็นการปฏิบัติการร่วม จนทำให้เกิดความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างสองประเทศ

Scholars studying BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) have traditionally argued that it is a development-focused partnership and not a military/security-based alliance. Yet BRICS members have been deepening their security integration, and Russia and China have been creating an alliance in the background. Although BRICS middle powers have traditionally demonstrated an aversion towards alliances, Brazil actively deepened security cooperation among BRICS members during its BRICS presidency in 2019.
