Cardiopulmonary And Cancer Rehabilitation, Erica E. Braig, Aubree L. Osier 2022 University of Montana

Cardiopulmonary And Cancer Rehabilitation, Erica E. Braig, Aubree L. Osier

Undergraduate Theses, Professional Papers, and Capstone Artifacts

For this capstone project we are helping with the first phase of a 4-phase curricular/outreach program designed to train students (undergraduate and graduate in a peer-mentoring fashion) about professional work in Exercise Rehabilitation for Cardiopulmonary and Cancer Patients. Step 1 includes helping to develop the programmatic approach to testing students as a stand-in for clinical patients. This hands-on approach includes participating in the actual clinical equipment, procedures, and logistics used in modern clinical facilities. Because this program is being developmed in an existing laboratory space that is being repurposed as the Cardiopulmonary and Cancer Rehabilitation Laboratory, our work includes curating …

Adverse Childhood Experiences And Ecological Systems: An Examination Of Child Perception On School Climate And Connectedness, Siddhant Modi

Graduate Research Theses & Dissertations

Adverse childhood experiences permeate the environment of a child, impacting development in various ways. Research has shown that over 30% of the adult U.S population report some type of adverse childhood experience impacting development into adulthood. Research has shown that investigating areas of a child’s environment, other than the home, could assist in understanding the impact ACEs have on a child’s perception. Although previous research suggests a link between adverse childhood experiences and physical and emotional health problems, there is limited research addressing the impact ACEs have on a child’s perception of the reliability and safety in environments other than …

After compiling and discussing research amongst our team, we contacted stakeholders that would be affected by our product. Our stakeholders include our below-the-knee amputee client, an above-the-knee amputee, pediatric prosthetists, and our client’s prosthetists. We conducted interviews with our stakeholders …
