Researchers confirmed that the use of feedback assists with the improvement of students’ confidence and performance. Multiple studies focus on the provision and acceptance of feedback; however, it was not known if, or how, students internalized the feedback to apply it successfully. Since there is a difference between providing feedback and the interpretation of its true message, this phenomenon was studied to add empirical knowledge regarding students’ feedback interpretation. This qualitative study explores the perceptions of how students interpret information received from Level II fieldwork educators and what meanings students attributed to the feedback. Objective: The purpose of this life history of Amanda Wahlin was to gather information about the history of occupational therapy in North Dakota and Wyoming, and how it has evolved over time.

Methods: A semi-structured 70-minute interview was conducted via Skype. The interview was then coded for categories and themes.

Results: Twelve codes were established leading to three emergent categories

. Values education, and practicing as an occupational therapist were identified as major themes in Amanda’s life. Through the development of these themes, it became clear that Amanda has had a significant and positive impact on her rural community.

Objective. The purpose of this qualitative Life History study is to gather information about the evolution and history of occupational therapy (OT) practice from individuals who have been influential in developing OT.

Method. A one-hour, semi-structured interview was conducted with Dr. Gail Bass to gather information on her experiences in her works of occupational therapy. Once the interview was completed, it was transcribed verbatim by the researchers. Open coding was then used to identify codes, then categories, themes, and finally an overall assertion.

Background. Traumatic injuries to the upper extremity, such as crush injuries, tendon lacerations, burns, and amputations, are common and may result in missed work, decreased independence in activities of daily living, and decreased the quality of life. In urban areas, traumatic upper extremity injuries are often treated by a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), who is an occupational or physical therapist with specialized training who has passed a national certification examination.
