Labor and Delivery is the physiological process in which a pregnant woman gives birth to a baby. (Lowdermilk et al., 2019). This can be a physically, emotionally, and medically challenging process for mothers. Patients with limited English proficiency have difficulties communicating their needs, more specifically pain management needs when there are language barriers between them and the healthcare staff. Hospital falls are rising in inpatient facilities, requiring analysis and a plan of action to address the ongoing falls. A strategy taken among facilities is implementing a 4Ms Framework that allows the nurse to address what matters to the patient and assess their mentation, medications, and mobility upon admission. With an increase in falls on a med-surg unit, it was found that there was no straightforward process for addressing the needs and concerns of patients and no assessment of medications, mobility, or mentation for those aged 65 years and older. Aim: This study aimed to gain a better understanding of nursing/midwifery students' perspectives on a pedagogy of caring and online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, it aimed to determine if the COVID-19 pandemic impacted students' perceptions and experience of online learning and students' desire to enter the nursing/midwifery workforce. Design: Mixed methods. Methods: A multi-centre cross-sectional survey of Australian nursing and midwifery students was undertaken to explore students’ experience of learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the COVID-19 pandemic spread across the world, immunocompromised individuals such as people with HIV (PWH) may have faced a disproportionate impact on their health and HIV outcomes, both from COVID-19 and from the strategies enacted to contain it. Based on the SPIRIT guidelines, we describe the protocol for an international multisite observational study being conducted by The International Nursing Network for HIV Research, with the Coordinating Center based at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Nursing.
