Development Of A Delirium Educational Program For Hospital Medicine Providers, Lindsay Erin Stone

Nursing Masters

Hospital medicine providers were surveyed to evaluate baseline delirium attitudes and behaviors. An educational program was then shared, and a follow up survey was given to determine if their delirium attitudes and practices were impacted by the educational intervention. Follow up survey results indicated that providers perceived more of a change in their attitudes than practices, and overall found the education to be useful and felt more confident in treating delirium as a result.

The AGPT Registrar Satisfaction Survey was an annual, national survey of GP registrars currently training in the AGPT program that collects information about registrar satisfaction, experience and future career plans. The survey undertaken in November and December 2016 was part of the Department of Health’s monitoring and quality improvement activities and the information used to assure the quality of training provision, enable continuous improvement and allow results to be benchmarked nationally. It also collected information on registrars’ demographics, training contexts, career plans and other aspects of their training experience.

Traditionally anatomy is one of the first subjects taught in medical school. Practicing physicians have commented on medical students’ poor anatomical knowledge in surgically oriented clerkships. Literature also shows that correlating clinical and anatomical sciences throughout early medical education may improve anatomical knowledge retention. With major medical school curricular changes happening across the nation, more quantitative data confirming this correlation is needed.

Introduction:

Dietary interventions and nutrition care improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs. Despite status as a necessary topic in medical school education, many U.S. medical schools do not adequately prepare future physicians for everyday nutritional challenges in clinical practice. There is immense research behind the necessity of nutrition education but little concerning the methods of implementing this change. The purpose of this work was to review the current innovations of nutrition curriculum in the literature and discuss future directions for our medical school.

To determine the perception of pathology as a future career choice among medical students of a private medical school from Karachi, Pakistan. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at the Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan. A total of 201 students participated in this study. All Students were approached randomly to participate. A total of 201 students participant survey forms were evaluated in this study. The overall satisfaction level with pathology was observed in 61.8% ofthe students. Majority of the students understood subspecialties which were a part of clinical medicine. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) provide the majority of anesthesia care in rural areas across the United States (Seibert, Alexander, & Lupien 2004). No federal mandate exists which states CRNAs must be supervised, yet some facilities require CRNAs to be supervised by anesthesiologists. CRNAs are equally safe in providing anesthesia care as physician anesthesiologists (Dulisse & Cromwell, 2010).
