The assessment of perceived stress and coping behaviors related to first-semester clinical might benefit students in nursing education. The assessment of most common coping behaviors and perceived stress related to the clinical setting is essential due to difference in personalities, learning abilities, and coping behaviors among nursing students today. Previous research has suggested the initial clinical period results in adverse outcomes, such as poor academic performance, elevated burnout levels, and diminished personal well-being. Introduction

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, many graduate medical education (GME) programs switched from in-person to virtual training to ensure a safe learning environment. However, the preferences of US residents in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic are largely unknown.

Objective

The authors surveyed PGY-2 psychiatry residents about their perception of the pandemic's impact on their clinical skills, didactics experience, training preferences, and future career perceptions.

Methods

Mini abstracts: Faculty at the Baylor College of Medicine have developed a flexible research collaborative through which students gain research skills and individualized mentorship. This division has produced 86 trainee first author publications, 64 manuscripts by 34 different medical students with an average Scimago Journal Rank of 1.293 (range: 1.035-1.551) since 2015.

Background

We endeavored to create an evidence-based curriculum to improve general surgery resident fund of knowledge. Global and resident-specific interventions were employed to this end. These interventions were monitored via multiple choice question results on a weekly basis and American Board of Surgery In-Training Examination (ABSITE) performance.

Methods

This study was performed in a prospective manner over a 2-year period. A structured textbook review with testing was implemented for all residents. Acne vulgaris is a common inflammatory skin condition of the pilosebaceous unit in adolescents and young adults and is primarily characterized by the presence of open and closed comedones. In patients of various skin pigmentations, skin-colored comedones may be difficult to appreciate and lead to incorrect or delayed diagnosis of acne. To aid in the identification of acne vulgaris in patients of various skin pigmentations, we present comedonal acne in different skin types and commonly encountered differential diagnoses. Background

With recent changes made to move USMLE Step 1 and COMLEX Level 1 scores to Pass/Fail, it becomes necessary to find other metrics to evaluate residency candidates. One conserved metric included in all residency applications is medical school transcripts. This study aims to highlight the highly varied transcript reporting in a new era of holistic applicant review.

Methods

Medical school transcripts were extracted from the Electronic Residency Application Service applications to our anesthesiology residency program for the 2021-2022 application cycle. Abstract

This project explores the implementation of Student Success Coaches at Augusta Technical College (Augusta Tech) and their potential impact on the rates of overall program completion and the rate of diverse student program completion. Framed within the GROW model and Sociocultural Learning Theory, the project aims to determine if coaching interventions address barriers to completion and foster a supportive learning environment. A mixed-methods exploratory approach was employed, combining empirical data such as retention rates and demographics with qualitative information from surveys. Purpose: Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) instruction is prevalent in medical schools but not in pediatric residency programs, even though the majority of pediatric residents desire POCUS instruction. Virtual ultrasound instruction with affordable handheld ultrasound devices may help remedy this deficiency by allowing qualified instructors to circumvent geographic and financial limitations to reach this population. The accurate diagnosis of this tumor is essential to prevent additional unnecessary treatments and/or surgeries. This can be achieved by proper genetic testing for the presence of markers including the NCOA2 fusion gene, CD34, α-SMA, and epithelial membrane antigen. Genetic testing is an essential component of accurate diagnosis as the appearance of these lesions can mimic other, more harmful neoplasms. Immunohistochemical analysis frequently shows the AHRR-NCOA2 driver mutation which is thought to be associated with t(5;8)(p15;q13), also commonly found in AFSTs. This colonization elevates the risk of complications such as denture stomatitis and candidiasis. Commercial denture cleaners have explored the use of natural ingredients, less commonly employed but offering various advantages. These ingredients aim to mitigate the potential issues associated with microbial colonization on denture surfaces, contributing to improved oral hygiene for denture wearers. The exploration of natural elements reflects a nuanced approach to denture care, considering both efficacy and less conventional alternatives.

Over an extended period, the examination of intelligence predominantly centered on the adaptive deployment of cognitive abilities. In more recent times, scholars such as Gardner (1983) and Sternberg (1988) have proposed comprehensive frameworks for comprehending intelligence. Pioneering the concept of "emotional intelligence," Salovey and Mayer (1990) posited that emotional intelligence encompasses three distinct categories of adaptive capabilities: the evaluation and expression of emotions, the regulation of emotions, and the utilization of emotions in problem-solving. The objective is to evaluate emotional intelligence among dental students across various educational institutions.

Despite being associated with hypoglycemia for nearly a century, a definitive relationship between migraines and glucose dysregulation remains elusive. Accumulating evidence suggests that migraines are in part due to a metabolic mismatch between cerebral demand and available energy. Research analyzing plasma glucose levels and migraine activity may further elucidate this interface between metabolic dysregulation and migraine pathophysiology and may potentially open avenues for therapeutic interventions targeting holistic metabolism for migraine management.
