Introduction/Background: Inadequate management of asthma significantly contributes to poor asthma control, poor quality of life (QOL), and high hospitalization rates among pediatric patients. The Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) guidelines offer recommendations designed to enhance asthma control and improve the quality of life for those affected (2015), including recommendations for close follow up care. Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated telehealth adoption, but disparities in its utilization persist. This study examines primary care patient sociodemographic characteristics, telehealth utilization patterns, and provider adoptions before and during the pandemic.

Methods: A retrospective cohort study analyzed data from Mississippi Medicare beneficiaries continuously enrolled in Parts A, B, and D who accessed primary care services from 2019 to 2021.

Results: Among 201 677 Medicare beneficiaries accessing primary care, 1364 used telehealth before the pandemic, compared to 73 994 during the pandemic. Telehealth utilization shifted during the pandemic to younger, female, White beneficiaries, and those enrolled in Medicare due to …

This study explores college students' perceptions of an AI-driven mHealth application designed to promote well-being. With rising mental health challenges in academic settings, students increasingly seek digital tools that provide holistic support for physical, mental, and financial health. Through focus groups, this qualitative study examines students' preferences for personalized health tracking, educational content, and flexible reminders within a private, supportive community. Key findings emphasize students' desire for a balanced, all-in-one app that integrates health and wellness tools without overwhelming them with notifications. Introduction: The objective of Virtually Assisted home rehabilitation after acute STroke was to offer a fully remote telerehabilitation intervention to stroke survivors during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: Participants were recruited from acute care, inpatient rehab, or provider/self-referral if they had a stroke within the previous year, prestroke modified Rankin Scale < 3, were recommended to participate in rehab, and had internet access. Exclusions were: prior injury/diagnoses that impacted functional level, life expectancy of less than six months, or safety concerns. Outcomes were within one week prior to initiation and within one week after completion of telerehabilitation sessions. Video call sessions were completed 1-2 times a week for 12 weeks. Occupational therapy, physical therapy, and/or speech therapy were provided. Analyses involved descriptive statistics; qualitative comments were aggregated and analyzed for broader themes. Twenty participants were consented.

Results: Of the 20 participants (39-71 years old, 35% White, 50% female), 12 completed study activities, five completed exit interview; 10 demonstrated improvement on National Institute of Health Stroke Scale from a mean of 5.6 at baseline to 2.7 at end of study, six demonstrated improvement in modified Rankin Score …

Children with special health care needs (SHCN) are at a heightened risk of developing chronic physical, developmental, behavioral, or cognitive conditions that significantly affect their oral and general health. These children often encounter significant barriers to receiving adequate dental care, which contributes to neglected oral health needs. Common challenges include increased risk of dental diseases due to medication use, oral hygiene difficulties, and dietary restrictions. Newer strategies aimed at overcoming these barriers include the use of dental social stories, desensitization techniques, and teledentistry.

Background: As telerehabilitation gains traction in occupational therapy, validating functional measures is crucial. Understanding clients' views on telehealth is essential, yet literature on spinal cord injury (SCI) in this context is sparse.

Objective: This study aims to describe the experiences of people living with SCI regarding remote and in-person functional testing.

Methods: A qualitative design was used, involving participants from a previous study validating the GRASSP, SCIM, and SCI-MovIN for remote use. Semi-structured interviews explored experiences, and transcripts were coded for thematic analysis. Twenty-five individuals with SCI, aged 18-80 and at least nine months post-injury, were included.

The rapid growth of remote healthcare delivery has introduced significant security and privacy risks to protected health information (PHI). Analysis of a comprehensive healthcare security breach dataset covering 2009-2023 reveals their significant prevalence and impact. This study investigates the root causes of such security incidents and introduces the Attacker-Centric Approach (ACA), a novel threat model tailored to protect PHI. Introduction: The benefit of endovascular therapy (EVT) among stroke patients with large ischemic core (ASPECTS 0-5) in the extended time window outside of trial settings remains unclear. We analyzed the effect of EVT among these stroke patients in real-world settings.

Patients and methods: The CT for Late Endovascular Reperfusion (CLEAR) study recruited patients from 66 centers in 10 countries between 01/2014 and 05/2022. The extended time-window was defined as 6-24 h from last-seen-well to treatment. The primary outcome was shift of the 3-month modified Rankin scale (mRS) score. Many healthcare objectives can be successfully delivered through traditional telemedicine platforms, and others must be delivered in person. BACKGROUND: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease that requires frequent clinic and laboratory visits. However, patients with SLE, particularly those who are underresourced, have unacceptably high rates of no-shows.

Objective: Compare patient satisfaction between telemedicine and in-office visits and between providers post-operatively in an orthopedics setting with athletic trainers and physicians.

Design: Cross-sectional study

Methods: Patients from a Sports Medicine Clinic that received an orthopedic surgical intervention from March 2020-September 2021, and engaged in telemedicine, or an in-office visit post-operatively. Provider type included full-time athletic trainers, resident athletic trainers, physician (MD) resident/fellows, and float athletic trainers. Press-Ganey Patient Experience Surveys were collected at the time of follow up visit, with focus on items, “likelihood to recommend” and “how well staff worked together.”
