Background: Pakistan is the sixth most populous nation in the world and has an estimated 4 million stroke survivors. Most survivors are taken care of by community-based caregivers, and there are no inpatient rehabilitation facilities.
Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of locally designed 5-min movies rolled out in order of relevance that are thematically delivered in a 3-month program to deliver poststroke education to stroke survivor and caregiver dyads returning to the community.

A meta-analysis of oncology papers from around the world revealed that cancer patients who lived more than 50 miles away from hospital centers routinely presented with more advanced stages of disease at diagnosis, exhibited lower adherence to prescribed treatments, presented with poorer diagnoses, and reported a lower quality of life than patients who lived nearer to care facilities. Connected health approaches—or the use of broadband and telecommunications technologies to evaluate, diagnose, and monitor patients beyond the clinic—are becoming an indispensable tool in medicine to overcome the obstacle of distance.

Objectives
Little is known about the platforms and functionalities of mobile-based personal health record (PHR) applications. The objective of this study was to investigate these two features of PHR systems.
Methods
The unit of analysis was general hospitals with more than 100 beds. This study was based on a PHR survey conducted from May 1 to June 30, 2020 and the National Health Insurance administrative data as of March 31, 2020. The study considered the platform, Android and iPhone operation system (iOS), and types of functionalities of PHR systems. Among the 316 target hospitals, 103 hospitals had adopted PHR systems. …

This dissertation describes a mixed-methods study that examines the usability of telemedicine provider interfaces. This study consisted of content analysis, survey, and think aloud methodologies, which afford a multifaceted corpus of data for which to draw inferences and identify design features and functions that negatively impact usability. Introduction: The potential exists for patient harm when clinicians do not respond to clinical results in a timely manner. Much of the research on asynchronous electronic notifications (pager, cellphone or wearable devices) comes from home-grown electronic health records (EHR). Little is known about factors influencing notifications from vendor-based EHRs and the effect of subscription-based notifications, where providers select which results for notification. This study investigates what factors influence a clinician’s decision to order result notifications, the perceived role of these notifications in the clinical setting, and ways to improve notifications in a vendor-based EHR.

Background: KardiaMobile is a mobile ECG device, with smartphone connectivity, that is able to detect atrial fibrillation (a-fib). The device captures a 30 second reading and an algorithm differentiates a-fib from sinus rhythm. The mobile application can alert the user to an a-fib reading and also send the ECG output to their personal physician. By monitoring a-fib without accessing traditional care, KardiaMobile has the potential to reduce healthcare costs for patients with a-fib. Jefferson’s Department of Urology currently employs telehealth for post-operative visits but its efficacy in post-nephrectomy patients has not been well studied. Introduction: Cardiac rehabilitation programs have particularly poor attrition and rehospitalization from cardiac-related events is a large burden on the medical system, as 8.9% of patients who have acute MI are rehospitalized within one year. External barriers may exist that prevent patients from adequately completing in-house cardiac rehabilitation, which makes them strong candidates for a home-based rehab program (HBCR).
