The purpose of this study was to survey the opinions of head basketball coaches of colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada relative to proposed rule changes in college basketball. Methodology involved construction of a ten item questionnaire dealing with proposed rule changes; a five item Liekert Scale was utilized for measure­ment of responses. The college classifications included divisions I, II, and III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Canadian College Athletic Association. The total population of college head coaches surveyed was 1,222; there were 842 returns. The overall response …

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maximum oxygen uptake and the 12, 9, 6 and 3 minute aerobic swim performance tests in intercollegiate male and female swimmers.

The purpose of this study was to compare Dunlop, Spalding and Wilson pressurized tennis balls for rebound when fatigued at trial intervals of 0, 800, 1,600, 2,400, 3,200 and 4,000 bounce impacts.

Eighteen yellow tennis balls, six each from Wilson, Dunlop and Spalding pressurized tennis cans were equally divided and randomly placed in a control or experimental group. The control group was not subjected to any fatigue. The experimental group was fatigued by use of a Lobster tennis ball firing machine. This parallel investigation was conducted to survey and to determine the immediate and longitudinal attitude values in selected college women following participation in elective physical activity classes. The expressed attitudes were measured by a modified Carlos L. Wear Physical Education Attitude Inventory adapted for use in this present study by the investigator.

Four experimental groups were chosen according to the cluster sampling technique, representing two life-time sport course offerings of badminton and women's fitness. A Study Of The Status And Leadership Of Girls' Athletics And The Attitudes Of Teachers Of Girls' Physical Education Toward Girls' Athletics In The State Of Idaho, Connie M. Thorngren

In 1969 a questionnaire was sent to all Idaho high schools concerning girls’ athletic programs and the attitudes of girls’ physical education teachers toward athletics. Eighty-seven percent of the questionnaires were returned, an indication of high interest in the subject area. Results showed moderate participation in most team sports and low participation in most individual sports. Teachers demonstrated favorable attitudes toward girls’ interscholastic athletics and indicated a need for enlarged programs. Money, facilities, and qualified coaches and officials were viewed as major concerns of girls’ programs.

The purpose of this study was to develop an Instructional 16 mm color film on Greco-Roman wrestling moves, counters, and drills which would benefit those on all levels interested in the use of upperbody wrestling techniques. To achieve this objective it was necessary to determine the moves, counters and drills which are most successfully used in Greco-Roman wrestling.
