One of the basic aims of the Spanish empire was to spread the Christian faith in its colonies. In the Philippines, this materialized with the arrival of Ferdinand Magellan in 1521 and its subsequent colonization by Miguel Lopez de Legazpi in 1565. The regular clergies known as friars were responsible in imparting the Christian faith to the locals who absorbed the new faith wholly, albeit, preserving their traditional beliefs to a certain extent. Desertasi ini menilai pemikiran dan pendekatan yang telah dicetuskan oleh Imam Hasan Al-Banna dalam usaha pembinaan peradaban ummah. Kajian ini difokuskan kepada tiga aspek utama. Pertama, pemikiran dan idea-idea yang dikemukakan oleh Imam Hasan AI-Banna dalam usaha pembinaan peradaban ummah. Kedua, menjelaskan pendekatan pendekatan yang digunakan oleh Imam Hasan Al-Banna dalam usaha merealisasikan idea-idea dan pemikiran beliau. This dissertation is a research about ihya Ramadan (revival of the spirit of Ramadan) especially through solat terawih (The Ramadan prayer) hold around Kota Bharu districts, Kelantan. It focuses on the government role specifically the Kelantan state government concerning the implementation and practices of Ibadah during Ramadan and also the issues surrounding rites and rituals of solat terawih among Kelantanese society.
