This paper will present information obtained from a nationwide dataset on the incidence of co-occurring Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and hearing loss. These disorders are frequently studied separately, but there is a lack of research on the co-occurrence of the disorders. Adolescents participate in underage drinking across the United States, causing significant consequences to themselves, others, communities, and the state. Underage drinking is one of the nation's leading causes of deaths in American adolescents. The current study examines the prevalence rate of underage drinking among a clinical population. The purpose of this study is to explore professional perceptions (intraprofessional, interprofessional, and societal) among UT Arlington (UTA) second-year and advanced-standing master of social work (MSW) students and investigate the connections of these perceptions to financial worth. Three focus groups were conducted with UTA MSW students (n=31) to explore this topic. The findings from this research suggest that the link between professional perceptions and financial worth is salient. Internal and external devaluation may contribute to a continued acceptance and expectation of low financial earnings. A substantial increase in the number of grandparents raising grandchildren occurred over the past three decades and moves across all ethnicities. African American (AA) grandparent caregivers, however, experience the most stress; yet have the fewest resources as compared with other ethnicities. In addition, AA grandchildren are more likely to live with their grandparents than other ethnicities. Multiple assessment tools measure PTSD. Participants used the PCL-M, or the SCID. I used the CAPS to supplement these assessments. None of these is usually taught to graduate social work students despite requirement changes from the NASW and the CSWE (2010, 2012). I had two aims. The first was to train me in psychometric assessment tools, specifically the CAPS. The second aim was to determine whether participants received a positive diagnosis of PTSD from one measure but not the CAPS, or vice versa. It was found that interest in conceptualizing social work seems to have faded away after 1977. This systematic review examines the empirical literature for American veterans with a dual diagnosis of PTSD and Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). Concurrent treatment and treatment targeting one of the disorders was the basis for research question used. Grades of Recommendation, Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE), the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses) statement, and COPES (Client Oriented Practical; Evidence Search Guides) method of question formation was chosen. Wraparound services are becoming a prominent form of service delivery for system of care for Mental Health services for children. This study examined the benefits, limitations, obstacles and any other themes reported by caregivers with children aged 0-6 with a Severe Emotional Disorder (SED) receiving wraparound service from a Community Based Mental Health agency. Responses of 24 caregivers to qualitative questionnaires were analyzed. The purpose of this case study was to examine the implementation process of an integrated health care model in a primary care setting that serves a primarily low-income, Latino population. The main unit of analysis was semi-structured interviews that were conducted with seven clinical and administrative staff members. Additional units of analysis included direct observations, the grant application for the program, clinic reports and other related documents. The purpose of this study was to answer five questions: 1) what are the coping strategies of suicide survivors?; 2) what percentage of survivors have post-traumatic stress?; 3) what percentage of survivors are at risk of suicide?; 4) what percentage of survivors experience post-traumatic growth?; and 5) what are the relationships among these variables? Four standardized assessments on suicide risk, post-traumatic stress and post-traumatic growth were administered along with a questionnaire covering demographics and coping strategies. Results provided support that survivors do experience post-traumatic stress and that they are at risk of suicide. The findings suggest that survivors need help …

The researcher conducted a Qualitative Interpretive Meta-Synthesis (QIMS) of the intersection of sexual minority status and suicidality. Seven qualitative research studies were identified which included the stories of members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) community (n=96). Five overarching themes were discovered: Internal Struggle, External Struggle, Isolation, Internal Strength, and External Strength. The Interpersonal Theory of Suicide was used to guide the interpretation of the findings of this QIMS in order to expand the understanding of suicide as it applies to the GLBT community. Implications for research, practice, and policy are discussed.

Thirty-four women self-identified as engaging in prostitution and were sampled from two prostitution intervention agencies over a 6 month period. Participants ranged in age from 22 to 55 years old (M = 37.40, SD = 8.43), over half the women had been sexually exploited through pimp-control, and over half the women had been sexually exploited under the age of eighteen. Participants completed a survey related to questions about levels of fear and hopelessness at the time of the sexual exploitation experience.Significant differences were found between women exploited through pimp controlled prostitution versus women exploited through survival sex.
