Prior to this study, scholars have recognized the problem of tax evasion in the commercial sex market as an obstacle to national revenue collection. Tax violation and fraud investigations also are ways to combat the illegal commercial sex industry. However, no studies have focused on the problem in the United States sex market. Bystander intervention in potential sexual assault situations is a common method of helping to address sexual violence on college campuses. Although numerous variables have been shown to mediate bystander intervention behavior, the pool of potential correlates is limited. The present study used regression analysis to determine the relationship between bystander behavior and three predictors: religiosity, gratitude, and victim empathy. Consistent with prior research, both religiosity and gratitude significantly predicted bystander behavior. Contrary to prior research, the relationship between victim empathy and bystander behavior was negative. Findings are discussed relating to potential bystander intervention programs, and future research, particularly on gratitude, …

Dowry, the money, goods, property, or gifts given by the bride’s family to the groom or his family at the time of marriage, is a common custom in South Asia. Although it is illegal to demand—or offer—a dowry in India, it is a nearly universal custom in many parts of the country. If, after marriage, a husband’s family feels that the wife’s dowry was insufficient, they may harass or inflict other forms of domestic violence on her to put pressure on her family to provide an additional dowry. The implications of a polarizing political climate on the plight of immigrants with disabilities in the United States are physiological and emotional. Rehabilitation and human services professionals are inclined to recognize the intersection of the process of immigration with related legislation and the presence of disability. Undergraduate students of relevant disciplines can benefit from the focused investigation that an independent study can provide – particularly because legislative directives evolve so rapidly, are directly associated with service provision and the availability of resources, and draw upon training and continuing education expectations from a variety of practitioner ethical codes.

This thesis offers a collection of authors and studies in support of improved research, training, and practice connecting mindfulness with racial justice through intergroup applications. The paper identifies barriers at work (e.g., colorblindness, spiritual bypass, white fragility, and implicit bias) in contemplative science, Western Buddhist communities, and secular mindfulness centers, which block the sizeable contributions possible in studying the intergroup application of mindfulness practice—specifically Lovingkindness Meditation, among others—when used as an intervention with anti-racist aims. Significant conceptual and empirical evidence has been found through qualitative research about the benefits, limitations, and uses of individual interviews. However, there is scant research illustrating how researchers use specific techniques that center participants’ intersecting identities to build rapport, trust, and authentic connections during individual interviews, and especially during interviews with Black women. We illustrate how we used eight empirically grounded techniques in our qualitative individual interviews with Black women. When social programs, support networks, and better opportunities exist to improve the lives of female survivors, the financial impact of their abuse can be addressed and reduced in a significant, sustainable manner. Existing literature on climate change as an issue of environmental justice documents the heightened vulnerability of people with disabilities to the effects of climate change. การศึกษาเรื่อง ผู้ก่อการร้ายหญิง : ปัญหาและแนวทางการแก้ไข เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษามูลเหตุ จูงใจ บทบาท และกระบวนการในการที่ผู้หญิงเข้าไปมีส่วนร่วมในการก่อการร้าย ตลอดจนแสวงหาแนวทางในการป้องกันและแก้ไขปัญหา ผลจากการวิจัยพบว่า มูลเหตุจูงใจในการก่อการร้ายของผู้หญิงสามารถแบ่งเป็นสองส่วนหลัก ได้แก่ ส่วนที่เป็นปัจจัยดึงดูด อันเป็นปัจจัยจากฝั่งกลุ่มก่อการร้าย ได้แก่ กระบวนการชักชวนและจัดหาที่มีประสิทธิภาพ ประกอบกับความมีบารมีและความดึงดูดของผู้นำกลุ่มก่อการร้ายและส่วนที่เป็นปัจจัยผลักดัน อันเป็นปัจจัยที่มาจากแรงกระตุ้นของฝั่งผู้หญิงเอง ได้แก่ อารมณ์ส่วนตัว ศาสนา และการเมือง จนนำไปสู่การเข้าสู่กระบวนการโดยสมัครใจเพื่อไปมีส่วนร่วมในการก่อการร้าย โดยในต่างประเทศผู้หญิงมีทั้งบทบาทหลักในการก่อเหตุ และบทบาทสนับสนุน อาทิ การทำหน้าที่เป็นแม่ ภรรยา และจัดหาสมาชิก เป็นต้น ซึ่งมักถูกชักจูงผ่านช่องทางออนไลน์เป็นหลัก ขณะที่บางส่วนที่ไม่สมัครใจก็จะตกเป็นเหยื่อเพื่อแสวงประโยชน์ของกลุ่มก่อการร้าย ในส่วนของประเทศไทยนั้น การก่อการร้ายถูกชี้นำไปในพื้นที่จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ ซึ่งผู้หญิงจะมีบทบาทในการสนับสนุนกลุ่มก่อความไม่สงบ อาทิ การทำหน้าที่ปฐมพยาบาล และการหารายได้ เป็นต้น โดยถูกชักจูงจากคนในครอบครัวและคนใกล้ตัว ประกอบกับการซึมซับข้อมูลและเรื่องเล่าต่าง ๆ ผ่านประสบการณ์จากการอาศัยอยู่ในพื้นที่เป็นเวลานาน และเนื่องจากผู้หญิงเข้าไปมีส่วนร่วมในการก่อการร้ายในบทบาทต่าง ๆ อันเป็นฟันเฟืองหนึ่งที่ขับเคลื่อนให้เกิดการก่อการร้ายในหลายพื้นที่ทั่วโลก ประชาคมระหว่างประเทศรวมทั้งประเทศไทยจึงได้มีการกำหนดนโยบายที่เกี่ยวข้องในการต่อต้านการก่อการร้ายทั้งในภาพรวมและในมิติของผู้หญิงในการก่อการร้ายเป็นการเฉพาะ อย่างไรก็ดี ยังพบว่าหลายประเทศทั่วโลกยังคงเผชิญกับภัยคุกคามจากการก่อการร้ายจวบจนปัจจุบัน เช่นเดียวกับประเทศไทยที่ปัญหาการก่อความไม่สงบในจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ยังคงดำเนินต่อเนื่องเรื่อยมาหลายทศวรรษ ผู้วิจัยจึงได้เสนอแนะให้มีการปรับปรุงนโยบาย การเพิ่มมาตรการป้องกันในระดับปฏิบัติ ตลอดจนการนำทฤษฎีทางอาชญาวิทยาและแนวทางการป้องกันจากต่างประเทศที่ได้ศึกษาไว้ มาเป็นกรอบในการจัดทำแนวทางในการป้องกันและแก้ไขทั้งในระดับนโยบายและระดับปฏิบัติการที่สอดคล้องกับบริบทของไทย

การศึกษาเรื่องนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษากระบวนการฟอกเขียวด้วยการซื้อขายคาร์บอนเครดิต ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ของการฟอกเขียวด้วยการซื้อขายคาร์บอนเครดิต และศึกษาทัศนคติของประชาชนเกี่ยวกับการฟอกเขียวด้วยการซื้อขายคาร์บอนเครดิต เป็นการวิจัยแบบผสมผสาน (Mixed method) การวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือ แบบสอบถาม โดยวิธีการเก็บข้อมูลกับกลุ่มตัวอย่าง จำนวน 400 คน ในจังหวัดเชียงราย เชียงใหม่ กรุงเทพมหานคร สมุทรสาคร ตราด และสุราษฎร์ธานี และการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพด้วยการวิจัยเชิงเอกสาร 10 ปีย้อนหลัง พ.ศ. 2556 - 2566 และใช้เทคนิคการสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึก ผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญ จำนวน 15 คน ในหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องกับคาร์บอนเครดิต นักวิชาการและผู้เชี่ยวชาญ องค์กรไม่แสวงหากำไร ผลการศึกษาพบว่า การซื้อขายคาร์บอนเครดิตสามารถบรรเทาปัญหาภาวะโลกร้อน ก่อให้เกิดโครงการเพื่อสิ่งแวดล้อม และนำไปสู่การลงทุนรูปแบบใหม่ที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม ทั้งนี้การซื้อขายคาร์บอนเครดิตไม่ได้เป็นอาชญากรรมในตัวเอง หากแต่มีการใช้เป็นเครื่องมือกระทำความผิดและนำไปสู่การฟอกเขียว การฟอกเขียวด้วยการซื้อขายคาร์บอนเครดิต ประกอบด้วย 6 องค์ประกอบ 1) ผู้กระทำ 2) กิจกรรมการฟอกเขียว 3) ฟอกเขียวด้วยกลไกคาร์บอน 4) เป้าหมาย 5) ผลกระทบ 6) กระทำด้วยเจตนา โดยผู้กระทำการฟอกเขียว ประกอบด้วย 1) บุคคลธรรมดา มีลักษณะอาชญากรคอปกขาว 2) นิติบุคคล มีลักษณะอาชญากรรมที่กระทำโดยบริษัทหรือธุรกิจองค์กร 3) รัฐ ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับอุบัติเหตุจากความประมาทจากการประกาศนโยบายของรัฐ หรือการดำเนินการผิดพลาดที่นำไปสู่การทุจริตคอร์รัปชัน การฟอกเขียวด้วยการซื้อขายคาร์บอนเครดิตสามารถเกิดใน 3 รูปแบบ ได้แก่ การใช้ช่องโหว่ของกระบวนการซื้อขายคาร์บอนเครดิต การพึ่งพาการชดเชยมากเกินไป และการใช้กลไกการทำธุรกรรมของกลไกคาร์บอน ความสัมพันธ์ของการฟอกเขียวด้วยการซื้อขายคาร์บอนเครดิต จำแนกเป็น 2 ลักษณะคือ การซื้อขายคาร์บอนเครดิตช่วยบรรเทาปัญหาภาวะโลกร้อน และการซื้อขายคาร์บอนเครดิตนำไปสู่ปัญหาสังคม 2 ลักษณะ ได้แก่ เป็นเครื่องมือการฟอกเขียว และ ก่อให้เกิดอาชญากรรมรูปแบบใหม่ในลักษณะห่วงโซ่อาชญากรรม ได้แก่ การฉ้อโกงประชาชน อาชญากรรมสิ่งแวดล้อม อาชญากรรมคอปกขาว อาชญากรรมทางเศรษฐกิจ อาชญากรรมไซเบอร์ การฉ้อโกงภาษี และการฟอกเงิน จากการศึกษาทัศนคติของประชาชนเกี่ยวกับการฟอกเขียวด้วยการซื้อขายคาร์บอนเครดิตปรากฎว่า มีความสัมพันธ์กับการบรรเทาปัญหาภาวะโลกร้อน โครงการเพื่อสิ่งแวดล้อม และการลงทุนที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมในระดับน้อย มีความสัมพันธ์กับไม่ช่วยลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจก …
