U.S. And China: Microchip Policy Implications, Gro Kelrick

Undergraduate Research Symposium

Microchips have become a crucial influence on a country’s military and commercial sectors; a nation’s capacity to produce large volumes of quality microchips indicates its importance on the world stage. Recently, both the United States and China have promoted many domestic and foreign industrial policies that address each country’s interests in the production and sophistication of its microchips, establishing for themselves a dominant position in the global microchip market. I have collected commercial, economic, and government budget data provided by various United States …

This research set out to discover ways in which fisheries …

Forecasting The Future: The Early United States Weather Bureau, Robert T. Canning

Honors Theses

The interaction between weather, agriculture, and commerce provided the impetus for the inception of the service. Many historians put forward the notion of an obdurate weather bureau, a scientific backwater with no interest in modernization until after World War II. I disagree with this popular historiography and instead offer a history of the weather bureau’s attempts to institute the latest meteorological practices that takes into consideration the burdens and obligations of the bureau, as well as the historical context. …

Federal And State Regulations Pertaining To Systematic Collections. I. A Case Of Inadvertent Violation Of Federal Regulations, Jerry R. Choate, Hugh H. Genoways

University of Nebraska State Museum: Mammalogy Papers

On 25 April 1975, at the twenty-second annual meeting of the Southwestern Association of Naturalists (SWAN), at the University of Oklahoma Biological Station, President Keith A.
