A Study Of The Training Methods Used By The Vehicle Maintenance Department Of The Clark County School District Transportation Division, Jon J. Howard

The purpose of this study is to explore the training methods presently employed by the Clark County School District in preparing their mechanical staff for the future. The methods used to explore this issue are a review of pertinent literature and a series of one on one interviews with both the Human Resources Department and the mechanical staff. These interviews demonstrate that changes in training techniques are necessary to maintain the efficiency and competence of the mechanical staff. A proposal to assist the Vehicle Maintenance Department reach these goals is included.

My main concern is the fact that retirements, a hiring freeze, insufficient training funds, and rampant promotions are combining to make the existing workforce at DOE/NV fatter, dumber, and happier. The section on the DOE/NV organization reveals that as a result of Strategic Alignment Initiatives, the organization has downsized, but has not right-sized. With the recent increase of police officer misconduct the LVMPD has come under a great deal of scrutiny by residents of the community. The credibility of the department has been jeopardized as a result of the current complaint investigations process which is conducted by the Internal Affairs Bureau. The city of Las Vegas and surrounding municipalities have varying preservation programs in place. The distinctions between the municipalities historic preservation programs foster little protection for the historic site itself in most cases. The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze student uniform policies in public school districts within the United States and to ascertain whether or not they are effective. Available information from America's 70 largest school districts is collected and compared to determine if the policies are feasible. Findings indicate there is a broad spectrum of ways in which the districts address student attire and imply that most of the districts are not adapting uniform policies, but are leaving the decision up to individual schools and to the parents. User fees are moneys charged non-union members by their representative union for the purpose of processing grievances. The non-member has to request the union to represent them in order for the union to do so. They may also hirer private representation at their own cost. User fees violate the intent of right-to-work laws in Nevada. The Nevada Local Government Employee-Management Board was wrong when they allowed Union/Local 1107 to charge such fees. The "Executive Board Policy" posted by Local 1107 on union bulletin boards announcing the fees for representation was coercive and discriminatory. According to survey, 40% of the respondents …

In 1995, Boulder City bought from the federal government 167 square miles of land in the Eldorado Valley which is located approximately seven miles west of the city. Soon afterward, the current landfill in Boulder City began accepting construction waste from Las Vegas. The large dump trucks had to travel through Boulder City on route to the landfill.
