(2006) presented several forms for the deviation information criterion (DIC) for mixture models, each version is depended on the kind of probability function. However, no reliable version was adopted for those models. As an idea inspired by Brooks (2002, p. 617), we develop, in this paper, Bayesian deviations plugging into two known criteria: the Akaike information criterion (AIC) and Bayesian information criterion (BIC) for choosing best mix model. The Southeastern Librarian

Demographic trends show that the population of librarians in the U.S. is rapidly aging. This paper examines the ways that library managers can make workplaces more attractive to older librarians in order to encourage them to remain in the workforce beyond retirement age. The article dispels some negative stereotypes of "the older worker" and shows the advantages of retaining individuals with experience and maturity. It also addresses organizational climate, management, and training issues related to older workers.

This study set out to assess the short-term effects of a retrenchment exercise on individual and organisational performance in the Uganda civil service. In all, 247 senior and lower rank employees from 6 civil service ministries were administered a questionnaire that measured individual performance, factors hindering employee performance and suggestions on how performance could be improved, and organisational performance factors. The majority of participants reported retrenchment had positive or unknown effects on individual performance. Factors hindering employee performance were inadequate funding, lack of motivation, work overload, and lack of tools--to mention but a few. Providing a living wage, improved incentives, …

The research question for this study asked if the Job Specifications Inventory (JSI) had acceptable internal reliability and an ability to differentiate among occupational groups. The JSI was designed to have subject matter experts rate the importance of skill, content, context, relationship and work focus requirements of jobs or occupations. The JSI used a taxonomy of 268 behavioral elements derived from the content analyses of satisfying achievements reported by a large, diverse clientele. A clinical-type behavioral consistency method was used to extract performance dimensions from clients' achievements to build the taxonomy.
