The current study sets up to investigate the psychological and social characteristics among the bribe taker in addition to examining its relationship to some psychological, social and behavioral variables. Accordingly, the researchers have administered a battery of standardized psychometric tests concerning self-concept, mental alienation and psychopathic deviance to a sample of 14 bribe takers among individual prisoners who were condemned for bribery crime in addition to a similar sample of individuals who were not concerned by bribery. Most language inequality for infants begins very early in their development. For most, this disparity develops prior to 36 months (Farkus & Baron, 2000).

• Significant disparities in vocabulary size between socioeconomic status (SES) were evident by 18 months. By 24 months, there was a 6 month age gap (Fernald et al, 2011).

• 65% of low SES preschoolers in head start programs had clinically significant language delays (Ramey and Ramey, 2004)

• Maternal education is a known indicator of SES and is correlated with language input for infants (Dollaghan et al. 1999).

Youth’s likelihood of participating in sport increases when they maintain a focus on enjoyment, learning, and effort (i.e., task goal orientation) rather than how they compare to others and norms (i.e., ego goal orientation). Achievement goal theory research consistently illustrates the significant influence of leader-created motivational climates on their participants’ goal orientation adoption. However, the influence of caring climate perceptions by highly competitive adolescent athletes on their goal orientation adoption has yet to be examined. Hiring Perceptions Of Visible Body Modifications: The Effect Of Tattoos And Piercings, Nik Sokol

This study will examine the main effects of tattoos, piercings, and the interaction effect between them on the likelihood of a job applicant’s ability to be hired. A short online survey using Qualtrics was administered with a total of 49 responses from across the United States. Participants were asked to view the resume of a hypothetical applicant and answer several questions regarding what they had just seen and the perceived qualifications of the applicant. The analyses conducted demonstrated there were no significant main effects of tattoos or piercings on hireability, nor any interaction effect between tattoos and piercings on hireability. …

Equal weights are an alternative weighting procedure to the optimal weights offered by ordinary least squares regression analysis. Also called units weights, equal weights are formed by standardizing scores on the predictor variables and averaging these standardized scores to create a composite score. Research is limited regarding the conditions under which equal weights result in cross-validated 𝑅𝑅2 values that meet or exceed optimal weights. In this study, I explored the effect of various predictor-criterion correlations, predictor intercorrelations, and sample sizes to determine the relative performance of equal and optimal weighting schemes upon cross-validation. In this study we investigated how aging affects attention to predictive and uncertain cues during associative learning. According to Mackintosh’s theory of predictiveness (1975), attention will be allocated to cues that most reliably predict an outcome. An opposing theory of uncertainty from Pearce and Hall (1980) suggest attention will be allocated to cues whose outcomes are uncertain. Although these theories are contradictory, both are well supported in the associative learning literature. Alcohol sales have increased drastically during the COVID-19 quarantine (Rehm et al 2020) and people have begun drinking 2-3 more drinks on average, than they did prior to COVID-19 (Lechner et al 2020). We predicted that social isolation due to COVID-19 would negatively correlate with a person's number of binge-drinking episodes. 40 participants completed a survey and answered questions about the number of social contacts they maintain and their drinking habits. Participants took both the AUDIT-C and CAGE-4 questionnaires, which provide an accurate quantifiable value of a person's likelihood to engage in binge-drinking. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an increase in mental health issues/problems. This research sought to assess whether cyberchondria during the pandemic resulted in an increase in health anxiety levels. A total of 45 participants from Longwood University completed either survey A, which contained a 6 item cyberchondria measure and the 18 item Short Health Anxiety Inventory (SHAI), or survey B which contained a modified version of the cyberchondria measure and the SHAI. The Big 5 personality traits are typically assessed in order to understand the behavior of individuals. The major traits are extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience (McCrae & John, 1991). The iDISCO (immunolabeling-enabled three-dimensional imaging of solvent-cleared organs) method is a quick, inexpensive, and easily adaptable tissue staining and clearing procedure that allows neuroscientists to study a protein of interest in a whole, unaltered tissue sample. While the iDISCO method was initially tested and validated for mice embryos and brains, the current experiment sought to adapt the method for use in the rat using HIV-1 transgenic (Tg) rat brain tissue. Racial-ethnic socialization is a largely unstudied topic for White Americans. Most of the research on racial-ethnic socialization (RES) focuses on minority populations, but more literature is starting to focus on RES in White individuals. However, the mechanisms by which RES messages are transmitted are understudied.
