งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาโปรแกรมการสำรวจอาชีพแบบเสมือนของนักแคสเกมในนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย ผู้เข้าร่วมการวิจัยเป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายที่สนใจอาชีพนักแคสเกมจำนวน 60 คน แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม โดยกลุ่มทดลองได้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมการสำรวจอาชีพนักแคสเกมที่พัฒนาจากแนวคิดการเรียนรู้เชิงประสบการณ์ของโคลป์ (Kolb's experiential learning) ในขณะที่กลุ่มควบคุมทำกิจกรรมการสำรวจข้อมูลทางอาชีพนักแคสเกมจากการหาข้อมูลด้วยตนเอง โดยทั้งสองกลุ่มตอบแบบวัดความรู้ทางอาชีพ การรับรู้ตนเองทางอาชีพ และความแน่ใจทางอาชีพ ทั้งก่อนและหลังทำกิจกรรมเพื่อประเมินผลที่เกิดขึ้นจากการทำกิจกรรม ซึ่งมีการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติความแปรปราน 2 ทางแบบผสม (Two-way mixed ANOVA) และสถิติทดสอบความแตกต่างของค่ากลางของสองประชากรไม่อิสระ Paired simple t-test เพื่อตรวจสอบความแตกต่างของคะแนนก่อนและหลังการเข้าโปรแกรมในกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม จากผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) มีปฏิสัมพันธ์ร่วมระหว่างการเข้าร่วมโปรแกรมกับเวลาของการวัดต่อคะแนนความรู้ทางอาชีพนักแคสเกม อย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ 0.016 และพบการเพิ่มขึ้นของคะแนนหลังการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในกลุ่มทดลองอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 (2) นักเรียนทั้งในกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุมมีการรับรู้ตนเองทางอาชีพนักแคสเกมเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ 0.016 หลังจากทำกิจกรรมการสำรวจอาชีพ (3) มีปฏิสัมพันธ์ร่วมระหว่างการเข้าร่วมโปรแกรมกับเวลาของการวัดต่อคะแนนแน่ใจทางอาชีพนักแคสเกม อย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ 0.016 โดยพบการลดลงของคะแนนหลังการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในกลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05

Dyslexia, a common learning disorder, is currently understood to affect the processing of visual and auditory information. The ability to efficiently process the environment to reorient in space is an integral part of navigating the world, but possible impairments in dyslexia have not been fully addressed. In this study, the ability of individuals both with and without dyslexia to use auditory information in a spatial reorientation task was examined to further explore the processing deficits involved in dyslexia. The benefits of increasing teacher praise and decreasing teacher reprimand (for both students and teachers) is well-established in the literature. The purpose of this study was to expand the literature on teachers' natural use of praise and reprimand, specifically in terms of how teachers deliver praise and reprimand. Sixty-six middle (sixth through eighth grade) and high school (ninth through twelfth grade) teachers' delivery of praise and reprimand to individual (one student), small clusters (two to six students), and large groups (seven or more students) during a 20-minute observation were examined. The current study set out to create the Late Adolescent Social Support Inventory (LASSI), a scale designed to measure adolescents' perception of the availability of social support in each of House's (1981) four types of social support and to explore the relationship between depression and types of social support in adolescents. The first goal for the study was to estimate trait effects and social influences for racial centrality, racial private regard, and racial public regard. The second was to estimate correlational relationships between racial identity, depression, and anxiety symptoms. The study used 110 Black university students (M_age=19.5,SD=4.13) from a southeastern American university. Restricted maximum likelihood estimation was conducted to estimate variance components for all constructs. Racial centrality, racial private regard, and racial public regard consisted of mostly trait effects, although reflecting substantial social influences. What do people want? Few questions are more fundamental to psychological science than this. Yet, existing taxonomies disagree on both the number and content of goals. We thus adopted a lexical approach and investigated the structure of goal-relevant words from the natural English lexicon. Through an intensive rating process, 1,060 goal-relevant English words were first located. In Studies 1-2, two relatively large and diverse samples (total n = 1,026) rated their commitment to approaching or avoiding these goals. Results indicate a significant self-reported disgust response among core animal reminder and contamination domains whereas the moral domains elicited both anger and disgust. Physiologically no change was measured in skin conductance; heart rate decrease in response to animal reminder contamination community and autonomy video clips. Significant behavioral avoidance was demonstrated when presented with the core and animal reminder video clips. Further when measuring facial muscle activation the levator labii was significantly activated in response to the core video clip but no others. The present study used archival data (N = 194) consisting of responses from a battery of questionnaires and data from eight behavioral avoidance tasks (BATs). Correlational analyses demonstrated that disgust sensitivity, anxiety sensitivity, state disgust and anxiety ratings during BATs, and behavioral avoidance on BATs were significantly correlated. Higher disgust sensitivity and behavioral avoidance was also associated with being female. Unexpectedly, emotion dysregulation was not correlated with disgust sensitivity or behavioral avoidance. Next, a series of hierarchical multiple linear regressions indicated that the contamination disgust domain appeared to be the strongest predictor of behavioral avoidance on core- and contamination-related BATs, …

Superstitious behavior has been found to emerge during situations of uncertainty and often used by those who desire control. Desperation, a negative emotion that motivates behavior, tends to also occur in uncontrollable environments. This study attempts to analyze the possible relationship between desperation and the use of superstitious behavior in circumstances that leave individuals with little to no control. This was achieved by simulating an uncertain environment through a computerized card game involving chance (i.e. War). Interventions designed to increase psychological flexibility have been shown to reduce mental health stigma, and such interventions have shown to be effective in athletic populations. The current study assessed the relationship between athletic identity and mental health stigma while also observing the moderating effects of psychological flexibility within that relationship. This study was designed to determine the concurrent validity of the Missouri Adaptive Ability Scale (MAAS), a new measure of independent functioning and learning, by correlating it with the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales—Third Edition (VABS-III). Thirty participants (M = 11.0 years; SD = 4.1 years) were administered the MAAS and VABS-III. Kendall-Tau tests yielded moderate-to-strong correlations across all aspects of the MAAS, indicating good concurrent validity. The implications and limitations are discussed.
