Penelitian ini menjelaskan dinasti politik Kota Bontang. Penelitian akademik ini juga membahas terkait model dan prestasi keluarga politik dalam memimpin Kota Bontang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskrifitip terhadap fenomena yang sedang terjadi, penekanan penelitian ini bersifat interpretif. In December 2014, nearly four months after the shooting of Michael Brown, a delegation that included Brown's parents testified in front of the Committee against Torture in Geneva, Switzerland. While protest continued on the ground in Ferguson, Missouri (USA), this team delivered a report to the Committee that articulated the human rights claims of protestors to the international community. But, why? What did the delegation hope to accomplish that could not be satisfied through domestic channels, especially in a liberal democracy? Human rights defenders are being increasingly targeted across the globe. The rise of nationalist, populist regimes is of great concern to both human rights defenders and those that advocate for the rights of defenders. The problem is not only of domestic concern. The UN Human Rights Council, the UN’s preeminent human rights institution, is also seeing an increasing number of attacks on defenders, both in formal settings like discussions on resolutions and the Universal Periodic Review process and informally, through threats to participants at the Council.

Chinese scholars have recently expressed much interest in the comparative study of civilizations, lately carried on mostly in the West, but long open to, and increasingly of interest to, diverse perspectives. This essay is intended to suggest a road toward the development of comparative-civilizational studies centered on some questions of both historical and contemporary significance, with particular attention to one question concerning which the initial presuppositions of Western and Chinese scholars, in particular, may be at variance, but where there may be room for the development of agreed empirical-theoretical conclusions.

My aim in the following discussion was to determine from the historical evidence that small group of ideas, metaphysical assumptions, and attitudes which made up the core of the Magian I psychological world-outlook. The latter two-thirds of the essay is devoted to this problem, while the first third is concerned with the evidence for the very existence in the first millennium B.C. of a Near Eastern worldview of the same order as that of Greece, Europe, China, and India.

The organization was created in 1961, with a conference held at Salzburg, Austria. Scholars gathered there under the auspices of UNESCO for six days in October. Among those present were Pitirim Sorokin and Arnold Toynbee. The topics included the definition of the word “civilization,” problems in the analysis of complex cultures, civilizational encounters in the past, the Orient vs. the Occident, problems of universal history, theories of historiography, and the role of the social sciences and the humanities in globalization.

Penelitian ini berusaha menguak pengartian subjek politik dalam pasca-Marxisme Ernesto Laclau. Subjek politik di dalam pasca-Marxisme direpresentasikan melalui subjek emansipatif yang akan membawa politik emansipasi. Melalui studi pustaka, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pengartian subjek politik dalam pasca-Marxisme sangat berbeda dengan Marxisme. Perdebatan-perdebatan ontologis antara Marxisme dan pasca-Marxisme, bahkan di tubuh pasca-Marxisme mengenai “subjek” tersaji di dalam artikel ini. Secara lebih spesifik, pasca-Marxisme Laclau memadukan budaya psikoanalisis Lacan dan pasca-strukturalisme Derrida. Hal tersebut berimplikasi pada pengubahan pengartian atas “subjek”. Partai politik di Indonesia terlihat kurang memiliki pola pencalonan calon presiden dan wakil presiden yang sistematis dan demokratis. Pengambilan keputusan cenderung terpaku pada kebijakan ketua umum partai politik. Hal ini menyebabkan calon yang diajukan oleh partai politik kerap tidak dikehendaki oleh konstituen.
