"This thesis explores how human rights advocacy organizations have influenced the increased prosecution of conflict-related sexual violence in international criminal courts. This thesis will use the cases of the International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia (ICTY), the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), and the International Criminal Court (ICC) to demonstrate that well-established international human rights non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and legal coalitions have been the primary actors in transnational human rights advocacy networks to influence the investigation and prosecution of conflict-related sexual violence in international criminal courts. Human rights abuses occur regularly around the world, affecting millions of people each year. In the post-World War II era, a human rights movement helped create regional and international human rights regimes. This thesis tries to assess the impact of international human rights pressure on state compliance with international human rights norms and conventions. In investigating the impact of human rights pressure on states, I hypothesize that certain conditions are helpful. Health Policies In Quebec: When The Right Hand Doesn’T Know What The Left Hand Is Doing, Alexandre Couture Gagnon, Jean-François Savard

This article analyzes the coherence of public health and transportation policy in Quebec. It concludes that, while the formulation of these policies is coherent, their implementation is incongruent. Health policy in Quebec aims, among other things, at lowering deaths and diseases caused by air pollution; and transportation policy in Quebec aims at lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Yet the implementation of these policies does not make it possible to reach this target because of thickness of hierarchies, that is, the number of hierarchies (Hupe, 2010). Otherwise said, decentralization in the two departments leads to wrong interpretation of joint priorities.

China's transition from a planned economy to a market economy has brought about remarkably rapid economic growth. Year after year, China boasted of double-digit growth rates since the early 1990s. Attracted by China's so-called "economic miracle," foreign investors began entering the Chinese market hoping to benefit from the country's vast array of financial opportunities. Private equity, particularly a leveraged buyout, was an unfamiliar concept in China until late 1990s. Now China has become the most attractive destination among emerging markets for private equity investment.
