This paper attempts to reveal how the local media, Kedaulatan Rakyat, produces discourse on the Yogyakarta palace’s internal conflict involving Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and his siblings. The question of democracy and cyberdemocracy within the expanding population of internet users in Southeast Asia is a prevalent and debatable concern in the region. The phenomenon is perceived as sign of better democratization while also concerned for its political destabilization effects. How does decentralization provide good public services among traditional fisherfolk and diminish the exploitation of marine resources? This article discusses the positive impact of decentralization on the patron-client relationship of the fishing community by depicting the articulation of social relations and power relations tied among the fisherfolk Sangkarrang Islands, City of Makassar. This study explores the complexity of Jokowi’s political fashion as a visual marker of status, identity, and political power, along with the digital technology advancement. Artikel ini menjelaskan tentang bagaimana perilaku memilih masyarakat dalam Pemilihan Wali Kota Medan Tahun 2020. Studi ini mengunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, sumber data utama dari hasil survei perilaku memilih dan wawancara mendalam. Artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa perilaku memilih yang paling dominan pada masyarakat Medan ialah model sosiologis, yakni perilaku pemilih yang didasarkan pada preferensi sosiologis masyarakat. Faktor utamanya ialah disumbang oleh preferensi agama, etnis, maupun gender. Pemilih sosiologis tercatat dalam angka survey adalah sebesar 43,1%. Tak jarang artikulasi gagasan antar partikularitas Islam politik itu saling bertolak belakang, termasuk pemaknaan mereka dalam mengimplementasikan syariat Islam. Untuk melihat kenyataan itu, tulisan ini berupaya menjelaskan pertarungan diskursif partikularitas Islam politik dalam penerapan syariat Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat seberapa besar pengaruh dinasti politik dalam pemilihan kepala daerah yang diukur dari tingkat keterpilihan terhadap calon kepala daerah yang terkait dengan dinasti politik. Penelitian ini juga akan menggambarkan tipe patron yang efektif dalam mempengaruhi kemenangan calon kepala daerah yang terkait dengan politik dinasti. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan menghitung persentase dari setiap parameter yang diamati.
