The Ancient world was divided into three parts, Europe, Asia Minor and Libya (the present-day Maghreb). The Maghreb of the ancient world is geographically situated in an area which recieived cultural and linguistic influence form all over the world. Accordingly, the conception of identity is affected by socio-cultural historical events. Thus, history is a major component of identity formation.
