ABSTRACT

This research work investigated the preservation of information resources and user satisfaction with the use of library in Oko Polytechnic, Anambra State. The population of the study comprises 39 library staff and sample size of the study was 20 library staff which was selected randomly using simple random sample techniques. Three research questions were formulated to guide this study. Data was collected using the questionnaire, and was analysed with descriptive statistics. This paper examines the development process of a library Blackboard course by a Research & Instruction Librarian at the University of Mississippi over the course of one summer. The Library Skills and Orientation course sought to address two issues: limited first-year instruction capabilities and underdeveloped skillsets in upper-level students. It was designed to replace first-year instruction where able and supplement subject-specific instruction where needed. The Greenville County Library System (GCLS) is excited to introduce Teaching Totes, new interactive learning tools for families, teachers, caregivers, and homeschooling families.

Teaching Totes are portable plastic bins featuring themed Library System materials designed to create fun and interactive learning experiences for young children. By using themes connected to learning standards, the tote materials offer parents and teachers the opportunity to foster early learning skills necessary for the introduction of foundational concepts.

The focus of the research is on the use of nonfiction graphic novels in the English Language Arts, Writing, Social Studies, History, Science, and Math classrooms. It is time to consider if cookbooks hold this disparity and closely look at the gender of authors in the culinary world. This study explored gender within the CODES List-Cookbooks 2019-2022, a juried list of cookbooks published 2018-2021, as well as determined if Texas public colleges and universities carry these titles. A content analysis of 53 public library systems’ websites listed on the Public Library Directory of Mississippi Library Commission was conducted. The purpose of the study was to find types and levels of digital services offered by these library systems. The term “digital services” has been more used in recent literature, which suggests that more libraries started offering more since the start of COVID-19. This study intended to look closely how Mississippi’s public libraries follow the national trend.

Objectives – This study sought to determine the role social media plays in shaping library services and spaces, and how queries are received, responded to, and tracked differently by different types of libraries.

Methods – In April and May of 2021, researchers conducted a nine-question survey (Appendix A) targeted to social media managers across various types of libraries in the United States, soliciting a mix of quantitative and qualitative results on prevalence of social media interactions, perceived changes to services and spaces as a result of those interactions, and how social media messaging fits within the library’s question reporting or …

We investigated whether individuals believe they have a right to information during a crisis, and whether attitudes about crisis-related information sharing differ by age and one’s role in providing or consuming information. We measured attitudes about aspects of data sharing related to COVID-19: researchers’ obligation to share data, publishers’ obligation to share information, and libraries’ responsibility to provide them. We predicted younger individuals, especially students as consumers of information, would report stronger preference for open access to pandemic-related information. A principal components analysis was performed, and two predicted factors emerged: information-sharing obligations and libraries’ responsibility to provide resources. Age was …
