At Minnesota State University, Mankato, we've created a collection analysis system that is unique for at least two reasons: (1) we can combine a wider variety of data than we’ve seen elsewhere, (2) we can combine that data more quickly, more efficiently, than we’ve seen elsewhere. Because we can combine data efficiently, we have created reports approaching new kinds of problems. We can be more responsive as a library to the needs of our academic departments. This study investigates the impact of online reading on skills of professionals and students. The professionals include doctors, teachers, researchers, bankers, businessmen, journalists, librarians and regular students of the University of Karachi. The research approach of this study is qualitative. The sample size is 50. The qualitative data was collected through face to face interviews that recorded on the smartphone. The recorded interviews were transcribed and then analyzed. The findings indicated online reading through internet increases the reading habit and strengthen the knowledge of users through the availability of information across the world. Organization Of Materials And Accessing The Library In Blackboard: A Learner-Centered Usability Study, Michelle Gibeault

If we put the students in charge, how would they organize their course materials? What would their preferences reflect about approaches to organization? In order to engage with these research questions, a usability study aligned with social constructivist pedagogy and participatory design is described and evaluated as an avenue for investigation. The study entailed a classroom activity in which an adapted card-sort (using Legos) challenged students to organize their course materials, including librarian-created research materials, for their Composition II course's Blackboard site.

Despite being major producers, they are still marginalized, do not have access to credit and considered un-bankable. Data were collected using a survey questionnaire that was purposively distributed to students, librarians and members of academic staff. A total of 40 respondents participated in the study. Much has been written about library liaison programs in academic libraries throughout the United States. Since their inception, liaison programs have emphasized the collaboration between librarians and faculty in collection development. This brief paper synthesizes relevant literature to identify the dynamics that currently influence this collaboration. Those that emerge here include liaison job descriptions and collection development policies, direct service and collaboration, information reciprocity, relational factors, and budgets. The paper concludes with suggestions for interdisciplinary collaboration and for future teaching and research.

The research scrutinises information literacy, self-concept and metacognitive ability of teacher-librarians at the University of Zululand, South Africa. A total of one hundred and ten (110) copies of questionnaire were distributed among second-year teacher-librarians, out of which fifty-seven (57) copies were returned with valuable responses, giving a response rate of 51.8%. The study chronicled basic issues that concern self-efficacy, personal knowledge, task and procedural knowledge, strategic and declarative knowledge, conditional knowledge and planning ability of teachers.
