Purpose

Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies is reshaping higher education. In response, university libraries are gradually adopting these tools to enhance service capability and foster user engagement. Aligned with Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University’s “Education + AI Strategic Framework”, specifically the strategic goal of AI for Research and Innovation, this study examines how the Library leverages AI technologies to support scientific discovery and provide more inclusive, responsive library services.

Academic libraries are increasingly positioning themselves as strategic partners within their institutions, moving beyond traditional support roles to actively advancing institutional priorities, particularly in global university rankings like QS and Times Higher Education (THE). These rankings significantly influence how universities are perceived and funded, and they rely heavily on the use of bibliometric data, research outputs, and institutional reputation.

This paper explores the evolving role of academic libraries in small, multicultural settings. Using the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) in Macao as a case study, we examine how the library acts as a catalyst for interdisciplinary collaboration. By bridging the gap between diverse faculty departments—such as History, Sound Engineering, and Design—the library facilitates innovative projects that preserve local heritage and promote Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This document outlines two specific case studies: the "First Global Typhoon Macau 1874" exhibition and the "OttoSonic" sound installation.

NIE Library created an innovative space called LIBytes to connect people and ideas through immersive technologies— Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality(MR), and AI robots—and to widen equitable access to digital experiences. LIBytes is both a space and a service: we co-design with departments to integrate immersive learning into teaching, research, and outreach.

Libraries Faculty and Staff Scholarship and Research

This study investigates how students learn to use information at a remote field station to prepare for roles as environmental researchers, climate advocates, and citizens. Using a semi-structured interview approach, the researchers examined the perceptions of twelve field station instructors on how their students engage with information to learn in a place-based educational context. Three interrelated themes emerged that demonstrate the varied ways in which students need to learn to use information: (1) Leveraging interdisciplinary lenses, where students integrate diverse perspectives to interpret environmental information; (2) Acculturating to field research practices, where students gain practical research and data skills through …

The application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in libraries is becoming increasingly widespread, bringing with it not only enhanced service effectiveness but also various ethical challenges. This study constructs a framework for responsible AI ethical practice in libraries based on the AI ethics guidelines of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), contextualized within China's national conditions. The paper first deconstructs the 14 key issues in IFLA's ethical framework, categorizing them into three dimensions: technical risks, social risks, and governance risks, and analyzes the application limitations formed within the Western context. Several studies have noted that humanists have not been as quick or enthusiastic in their adoption of Open Access (OA) as their colleagues in other disciplines. This article leverages the Ithaka S+R US 2021 Faculty Survey to provide contextualized analysis of the OA and Open Education Resources (OER) preferences of humanities scholars, as well as some practices related to OA and OER, relative to their colleagues in other disciplines. Findings suggest that although humanists do stand apart in many OA preferences, the small effect sizes render these differences less important than previously suspected. Smu To Build Open Legal Database With Support From Ministry Of Law, Singapore Management University

The Singapore Management University (SMU) will be developing Singapore’s first open empirical legal database with support from the Ministry of Law (MinLaw). Housed at SMU’s Centre for Digital Law, the three-year project will compile and release machine-readable datasets containing key statistical information about Singapore court decisions, statutes, legal scholarship and court structures. Named Singapore Open Legal Informatics Database (SOLID), the database will be freely accessible to researchers worldwide through a public website and Application Programming Interface (API), positioning Singapore alongside leading jurisdictions around the world that have invested in building up their legal data infrastructure.

The Anchor: November 2025, Hope College

The Anchor: 2025

The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

The purpose of this poster is to demonstrate the effectiveness of checklists and standardization in a small academic library, where librarian roles include technical, public, and administrative responsibilities. Since the publication of Atul Gawande's Checklist Manifesto in 2010, leaders have paid greater attention to the role of the simple checklist in standardizing medical care. Checklists can also demonstrate positive impacts in librarianship. Managing serials subscriptions, primarily in electronic format, has required librarians to develop new skills, including the calculation of metrics from big package products which may not share consistent counter standards. Digital transformation in the public sector has reshaped the strategic role of archival human resources (HR), shifting from administrative executors to information curators who collaborate with artificial intelligence systems. This study aims to review and synthesize theoretical frameworks relevant to defining the core competencies of archival HR in the era of Human-AI Collaboration (HAIC). A theoretical literature review method was employed, analyzing 32 academic articles and institutional documents published between 2003 and 2025. Thematic synthesis was used to identify and classify competency dimensions into three main categories: technological-adaptive competence, socio-ethical and curatorial competence, and collaborative-systemic competence. Stunting remains a significant public health issue in Indonesia, particularly in traditional rural communities such as those in Village X, Leuwi Damar Subdistrict, Lebak Regency, Banten, which are widely recognized as the Outer Baduy community. This study aims to analyze information-seeking behavior related to health information on stunting by examining information needs, preferred sources, barriers encountered, and the socio-cultural context influencing such behavior. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and semi-structured interviews involving 15 mothers with children under five as the primary participants.
