In 2019, the Borough of Manhattan Community College’s library undertook a massive cleanup and reconfiguration of the content and guides contained in their LibGuides v2 system, which had been allowed to grow out of control over several years as no one was in charge of its maintenance. This article follows the process from identifying issues, getting departmental buy-in, and doing all of the necessary cleanup work for links and guides. At the same time, many library users are not or cannot visit physical buildings and may not be easy to reach. Libraries are communicating new service methods, protocols for health and safety, new and changing hours, policies, and more. This article discusses how libraries are communicating with patrons during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Purpose: This paper describes both the development of a peer research consultant program – using student assistants to staff the reference desk with minimal supervision while providing high quality research assistance to their undergraduate peers, and the steps taken to create buy-in for the program from campus and librarians.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the use of electronic resources (e-resources) by the academic staff of University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka. The study aimed to determine their awareness and perceptions towards the e-resources, training, and the factors affecting the usage. Convenient sampling method was used to select a sample of 37 academics from a population of 431. We Heard You! Designing An Engaging User Feedback Station, Jean Thrift

In November 2018, Lander University’s Jackson Library replaced their rarely-used traditional suggestion box with a new feedback station installed in the printing area, including open-ended whiteboard prompts and public replies posted to all question/comment forms received. Since then, the library’s users have shared hundreds of forms and whiteboard responses. How to install and manage a feedback station, challenges encountered, and actions taken in response to user feedback are discussed.

This paper introduces the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), an inclusive pedagogical principle that works to make instruction accessible for all by incorporating different needs of learners into instructional design. This article provides a brief analysis of the literature on UDL within the field of academic libraries and focuses specifically on library instruction. The paper then concludes with a comprehensive case study of the authors’ journey to actively incorporate UDL into their information literacy instruction sessions over a two-semester period, including lessons learned throughout their process.

The study looked at the customer relationship management practices found among librarians in academic libraries in Delta State. Four research questions were raised to guide the study while the population of the study was 156 librarians. The study utilized quantitative method of research to determine the level of knowledge and skills of academic librarians in Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines on the five domains of research and the challenges they encountered relative to research writing. The religious studies librarians at Brigham Young University (BYU) began a book display research project to examine the circulation rates of religious studies titles placed on display and to specifically evaluate the impact of religious fiction on that display in an academic library. Student employees were tasked with curating the displays over several years and maintaining a spreadsheet with the titles displayed and resulting checkout rates. Religious fiction (from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint tradition) circulated over 80% the first three years, higher than the religious nonfiction on display and the same genre in the stacks. Numerous factors contributed to the development of the journal Communications in Information Literacy (CIL), which began publication in 2007. Countering the monopolistic and exclusionary practices of commercial journal publishers was a leading concern. The co-founders were motivated by the possibilities of what was then an awakening open research environment to create a truly open access journal, filling a gap in the literature, and helping the library field to commence with reclaiming control of its scholarly record.
