With the proliferation of AI tools, graduate students often ask themselves how these tools can be ethically used to bolster their research. ChatGPT has gained traction, but its utility is constrained by issues like outdated information, artificial hallucinations, and limited access to scholarly publications hidden behind a paywall. Fortunately, new AI tools have been developed that promote academic exploration and discovery, such as offering generative article summaries, citation chaining, and thematic literature mapping capabilities. Student employees in academic libraries are capable of extraordinary things, but their work is often limited to basic circulation tasks. This presentation addresses how libraries can sustainably provide training experiences to student employees, or other employees new to the workforce, preparing them for more complex tasks. Increasing new employee capabilities frees up staff time for other projects, while providing employees with valuable professional development opportunities. This study assesses the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in library service delivery at the Ashanti Regional Library. Specifically, it sought to assess the available ICT infrastructure in the library, evaluate the extent of adoption of ICT tools by the library, examine the ICT skill level of staff and users, identify challenges in the usage of ICT infrastructure, and propose measures for improving ICT in the library. A survey research design was employed to gather responses from 66 library users/patrons and 25 library staff through the use of questionnaires. Clinical scholarship is a multifaceted concept in nursing that embodies building and disseminating knowledge within the professional environment. This requires conducting practice-based research, discovering the best available evidence for clinical practice, and translating findings into nurse-led interventions. An environment of clinical scholarship involves creating opportunities for nurse engagement in research, evidence-based practice (EBP) projects, and quality improvement initiatives. This must be supported by education and training centered on the principles of clinical scholarship. A course was developed with the curriculum design focusing on its attributes and application in the clinical setting and cultural milieu.

This applied research project aims to deliver specific recommendations for JMU Libraries to consider implementing in its self-paced online onboarding program to increase completion rates, satisfaction, and the perceived relevance of its training for new employees. This qualitative research design uses an interpretive/inductive approach and informant sampling strategy—interviews with five instructional designers—to collect, analyze, and create practicable suggestions for interactive, non-graded activities that can be added to increase the adult learners’ motivation to engage with the content. The themes that emerged in these interviews pointed to three types of activities: reflection, discussion, and authentic tasks. These activities are well supported …

Almost two hundred items from the Murdina MacFarquhar Desmond, MD papers have been digitized and are now available online. Dr. Desmond (1916-2003) contributed to the fields of pediatrics and neonatology during her long tenure (1948-1986) on the pediatrics faculty of Baylor College of Medicine and service to Jefferson Davis Hospital and Texas Children’s Hospital.
