[Purpose/significance]Provide ideas and references for the application study of information science in the new era.[Method/process]The paper makes a literal reviews on information science application studies from development changes,influence domains and scopes and changes of analysis methods to analyze changes of information science in the new era.According to these changes,it analyzes the impact and influence scopes of information application from the six domains which are scientific research,military affairs, public safety, science and technology,economics and decision support.And six related cases are used to explain the application methods and process of information application on the relevant domains.[Result/conclusion]The cases study shows that the domains …

[Purpose/significance]Mining user data and constructing online health user portraits is conducive to in-depth understanding of user needs,improving user experience in online health communities,and promoting the development of online health communities.[Method/process]Combining with the current status of online health community construction,use the RFM model to screen typical users and construct online health community user portrait tags from fact,model,and prediction dimensions.Based on the questionnaire data,use K-MEANS cluster analysis to achieve the part empirical analysis of portraits.[Result/conclusion]Constructing online health community user portraits in a data-driven context can effectively achieve personalized retrieval and accurate push,which is conducive to enhancing user stickiness and assisting website promotion,and …

Business Models For Post-Crisis Information Ecosystems, Antje Mays

Since early 2020, the global COVID-19 pandemic has interrupted activity across business, education, research, and communities. Public health safety precautions have forced drastic reductions in economic and educational activity, resulting in widespread economic uncertainty and sizeable budget cuts. With library budgets already declining since the 2001-2002 recession following the dotcom crash and more steeply since the 2007-2009 Great Recession spawned by the financial crash, the pandemic has accelerated trends that were already underway. Libraries’ reduced purchasing power places the information ecosystem at risk of contraction in the race to contain costs. While economic contexts and publishing forms have changed considerably. …

The decision to undergo body modifications can be done for a myriad of personal reasons, ranging from a love of the art, an expression of the person's individuality, the display of an affiliation, or for religious and/or spiritual beliefs. In the winter of 2020, our research team set out on a quest to discover the culture of acceptance of body modifications, including tattoos, piercings, and unnatural hair colors, among those who work in and use libraries in the United States of America. Our country has a long history of striving for openness and transparency in government processes. In 1978, the United States Supreme Court held, “It is clear that the courts of this country recognize a general right to insect and copy public records and documents, including judicial records and documents.” Long before America’s high court recognized this common law principle, court records were historically accessible for inspection by lawyers, journalists, land title companies, credit agencies, academics, and members of the general public.
