Several Thai universities have been developing institutional repositories for over a decade. The libraries, which are in charge of maintaining the repositories, and their repository staff have encountered challenging changes along the way. The following three major changes will be discussed in this presentation: 1) making IR collections more open, 2) aligning practices with global standards, and 3) expanding the content coverage and services to include research data.

STPI conducted a survey to understand the direction of academic libraries in Taiwan collection development and support of open access. This study aims at determining the influence of information needs, sources and gender on information use by faculty of science undergraduate students in universities in southwest Nigeria. In order to sample all important sub-population of the students, data were collected from seven departments which are Computer science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry, Physic, Archaeology, and Anthropology. Data was collected using a questionnaire from 500 students while data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation and T-test. Controlled vocabularies are necessary for clinical research and clinical practice. When medical librarians use the same language to describe the same phenomena, scientific knowledge advances and best practices can be developed. MeSH is never objective. These headings always reflect some ways of understanding the world and exclude others. This project attempts to understand how bias is embedded in the controlled terms that structure medical knowledge and implications for medical librarians.

The problem of access to library services for students with visual impairment in African countries has been noted by several authors (Ekwelem (2013), Ayoung, Baada & Baayel (2021) and Aubrey & Mapulanga, 2016)). In response to many of the problems people with visual impairment encounter in libraries, the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) in 2016 endorsed the Marrakesh treaty and encouraged other libraries to adopt it to minimize the key barriers to access to information experienced by people with visual impairment. In response to the 2020 global pandemic, the University of Minnesota Archives sought to gather digital content documenting the public health crisis and institutional response to COVID-19. Staff identified university-produced podcasts from several departments as information-rich contemporaneous content that was also at high risk of loss. Over the course of this work, we determined that these podcasts should be preserved in our institutional repository, as we came to see University podcasts more broadly as a digital serial publication.
