Leading Change: A Case Study Of A Transparent, Scaffolded Process For Rebalancing Workloads Across Liaisons, Carolyn Schubert

Libraries

Campus and internal position reorganizations changes had created significant imbalances across workloads of liaison librarians. Some people were experiencing burnout, some were feeling unengaged due to underutilization. To build buy-in for the change process and ultimate change decisions, the interim Director developed a multi-step process for scaffolding change and creating transparency across the decision points. Working within the constraints of existing personnel, we had to be creative. The presentation will describe the techniques the interim Director used to identify the problem, facilitate open communication, and engage shared leadership to resolve the imbalances.

A scientometrics analysis of ovarian cancer research during 2010 to 2019 is performed in this study. It is an attempt to find out the various scientometrics indicators such as: type of document wise distribution, authorship pattern, year wise publication, Co-occurrence of keyword. A total of 927 bibliographic records were collected from web of science database and as a data source it has been analyzed using MS excel and VOS viewer software. The aim of this study is to carry out a bibliometric analysis of literature on work engagement based on the Web of science Core Collection. References to work engagement literature published between 1980 and 2020 have been included. Biblioshiny application was used to analyze the annual scientific productivity, top contributing authors and their impact, top contributing countries and institutions, most relevant sources of publication, most cited documents, and most frequently used keywords and collaboration among countries in work engagement research. The present study examines the publication pattern of Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) during 2005 - 2019 using Web of Science (WOS) database from Clarivate Analytics. 632 articles were published during the study period, more number of articles published in 2019 with 94 (14.87%) and highest number of papers published in physical review letters journal which havs more h-index (567), average annual growth rate of CMI publications was 18.48. Abstract: The present paper determines the use of Open Source Software (OSS) in building Indian Institutional Repositories. The paper further covers the use of different OSS, use of OSS in different types of institutions, Indian States / UTs and different disciplines. ABSTRACT

This study compared the extent to which employee motivation and job satisfaction promote productivity among the staff of Sam Jonah and Osagyefo libraries. The study used a cross-sectional survey design. Census sampling and a questionnaire were used to collect data from 184 library staff of both Sam Jonah and Osagyefo libraries in Ghana based on the objectives identified. The study revealed that hygiene factors such as salary, working conditions, supervision, policies, interpersonal relation, security, and fringe benefits could serve as determinants of job satisfaction of staff of Sam Jonah and Osagyefo libraries. I will describe two IR projects, an undergraduate research conference and a faculty lecture series, that supported students and faculty during the pandemic. I will discuss why I was able to pivot quickly to tackle them and their significance for student success, faculty scholarship, the library, and the IR.

This documents details the purpose, accountabilities, and timeline for IDEA 2.0, a group of university library staff who focus on active interrogation of existing policies and practices. The group works to ensure that the library’s policies and practices do not reinforce existing inequitable power structures with an early focus on white supremacy culture, but not to the exclusion of other inequities such as patriarchy, ableism, and others. IDEA 2.0 acts as a guiding body to establish best practices and mechanisms of accountability.

In this essay, using as a point of departure his dilemma to accept or not the invitation to be a member of IJSL’s Editorial Board, del Valle discusses the limitations that academic publishing places on scholars in the humanities and interpretive social sciences: their choice of objects and analytical protocols, and the modes of distribution and dissemination of their production.
