The paper examines the extent of disaster preparedness in libraries of three South-western Nigerian universities. The survey research method was adopted, randomly administering on a ratio of 1:1:2:3, eighty (80) copies of the questionnaire to staff members of four university libraries. A 73% response rate was recorded and simple frequency tables, Likert Scale aided with summative indexing and Chi square test were used for analyzing the collated data. Four research questions were answered with three universities selected for the population study. There were fifty-eight respondents, made up of 30 males (51.7%) and 28 (48.3%) females.Disaster Likelihood Index (DLI) was used …

Keeping the importance of early education the present study highlights major issues through qualitative as well as quantitative methods. This study focuses on the library staff of High school libraries, their qualification and pay scale. Librarians in High schools are often treated as non–teaching staff and are given office-related clerical work. The authorities have shown negligence in setting up the required standards for High school libraries in Goa. The study aimed to evaluate the impact and purpose of using Higher Education Commission (HEC) digital library resources by the faculty members in the universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The population of study comprised of 280 social science faculty members working in the public sector universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Census Based survey method was used to solicit both genders’ views for this study. A quantitative survey procedure was employed for data collection, obtaining 89.2% response rate. Since the early 1990s, archives institutions largely have approached digital archival collections with an “if we build it, they will come” mentality. But the extent and motivations of use for traditional and emerging patron groups are constantly evolving, and the factors or conditions that characterize use vary wildly in the web environment. This research aims to identify the challenges and strategies of school libraries during pandemic to support distance learning. This research used qualitative methods with a case study approach conducted in three high school libraries in Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The data collection techniques consist of in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. The informant involved in the study was five people consisting of the head of the school and the librarian of the school. Data analysis techniques use stages of reduction, display, and verification. In 2019, a group of archivists participated in two conference sessions focused on impostor syndrome in the archives field. Though no comprehensive study on impostor syndrome has been undertaken in the archives profession, the authors listened to numerous stories of the phenomenon among audience members. This perspectives article considers the presence and impact of impostor syndrome in the archives field. The authors define the phenomenon, review literature on its influences in the information science profession, include stories of archives professionals working with impostor syndrome, and offer suggestions for working through impostor syndrome.

As awareness and acceptance of trans and gender diverse people grows, scholarly publishing has seen a movement to support trans authors through inclusive name change policies. This work mainly happens through trans scholars approaching publishers and requesting these changes. Sometimes this results in a new policy that supports the authors and protects them from being outed to co-authors and readers; other times, the policies are less than ideal or do not change at all. While most of the focus is on publishers and organizations, institutional repositories can and should take similar steps to respect and protect their trans authors. This …

Until 2017, most architecture collections in Special Collections and Archives have consisted of physical records. In recent years, curators began acquiring architecture collections with significant born-digital content, which present unique challenges different from other types of born-digital materials. Supporting Online Doctoral Student Socialization Through Talk About Writing: A Case Study Of The Short Life Of A Graduate Writing Center, Maureen J. Barney

This dissertation project was a qualitative case study of one writing center for online graduate students, the Graduate Writing Center at Concordia University–Portland. This study focused on synchronous interactions between peer writing consultants and online doctoral students to determine if the synchronous writing support sessions were a space where online doctoral students experienced affective support and socialization experiences. In this research, I analyzed four document sets: seven transcripts of synchronous sessions conducted via Zoom, interviews with three writing consultants and six online doctoral students, anonymous responses to appointment feedback surveys, and my fieldnotes.
