The present study examines the impact of Social Networking Sites on college students of Regional Institute of Paramedical and Nursing (RIPANS), Aizawl. The study focused on the SNSs usage on academic performance, both positive and negative influence, the purpose and problem faced by the students in using SNSs. 150 well-structured questionnaires were distributed to the randomly selected students of RIPANS to find out the impact of using SNSs for their academic performance, out of which 146 students have responded. The purpose of this research is to assess the quality of Iranian academic library websites pertaining to dissemination of electronic information, based on visibility, authenticity, navigation, accessibility, information dissemination, quality assessment and updateness, and consequently to rank them according to their conformity to these standards.The study is an applied research, conducted using scientometrics methodology. Research population consists of 80 central library websites of Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) main universities. Data collection tool is a researcher-structured checklist through using descriptive statistics to analyze the findings. The idea of open access is familiar and in recent years there has been a lot of attention paid on the open access movement. Currently due to the rise of the new open scholarly metadata, a lot can be obtained using open data. For instance Title / author / abstract metadata is available in Crossref, references are freely available via many sources such as Crossref itself, Microsoft Academic, Pubmed and Altmetrics data is available via the Crossref Event data. What are the implications for libraries and what is the arc of scholarly communication towards open?

‘Be Media Smart’ is an Irish public awareness campaign calling on people of all ages to ‘Be Media Smart’ and ‘Stop, Think, and Check’ that information they see, read or hear across any media platform is accurate and reliable. This national media literacy campaign was aimed at enhancing people’s understanding of, and engagement with, media, while also empowering them with the skills to evaluate content across all platforms.

This report will present the findings and recommendations of a study designed to explore Santa Clara University (SCU) business faculty’s current and emerging undergraduate teaching practices. The study was led locally by researchers in the SCU Library, with parallel studies conducted at fourteen other institutions of higher education in the United States during the 2018-19 academic year. These studies were coordinated at the national level by Ithaka S&R, a not-for-profit research and consulting service that helps academic and cultural communities serve the public good and navigate economic, technological, and demographic change. The Qualitative Data Repository (QDR, www.qdr.org) is an archive dedicated to qualitative data and data underlying multi-method inquiry. QDR is the only repository of its kind in the US—dedicated specifically to curating and archiving qualitative data and attuned to the requirements and concerns of qualitative researchers, their materials and sources. Planning for QDR begun in 2007, as discussions about data sharing gained increasing salience in the social sciences. Much of the infrastructure and advice on sharing data, however, focused on quantitative data. QDR was thus founded to fill this gap and provide dedicated guidance and suitable infrastructure for the needs …
