Academic libraries contribute to student engagement, student learning, and retention; therefore, the effects of improved library services for students may be positive and long lasting. However, despite successful application of organizational learning (OL), a strategic process for improvement, to enhance services in academic libraries, little is known about OL in libraries of for-profit colleges and universities (FPCUs). The purpose of this sequential explanatory mixed-methods study was to assess and explore the use of OL in libraries at FPCUs. Throughout Writing Program Administration scholarship there has been a clear call for archivization and archival work. This dissertation project takes an interdisciplinary approach to digital archival practices for Writing Program Administrators to consider and employ in their home institutions. While I recognize that WPAs are not typically identified as “archivists,” I situate the digital archive within the digital humanities as an interdisciplinary, collaborative project and offer suggestions that lead to recommendations for making an institutional archive. This study demonstrates how a team of librarians sustained authentic assessment across multiple studies in order to inform changes to an information literacy curriculum. It demonstrates the cyclical and action-based nature of assessment, including closing one loop only to reopen another and begin the assessment process again, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and making changes that increase student learning. Researchers analyzed 79 English composition papers for evidence of information literacy skills, expanding upon a previous study which established information literacy skill benchmarks. Findings from the previous study led to the development of new library instruction lessons, which targeted skills students …

Like most of its peer institutions, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Libraries faced the challenge of meeting the needs of a growing number of students taking online courses. The author, hired as the new Virtual Learning Librarian in January 2016, was charged with creating a new Virtual Learning Program. This tutorials-based program was first fully implemented in a fully online Entomology graduate program. This paper summarizes the development of the Virtual Learning Program, how it was adapted to the Entomology program, and the initial results from the first semester of implementation.

This case study examines the development of a new program to foster genealogical research in an academic library that did not encourage or promote genealogical research. In early 2014, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries set a strategic initiative of increased outreach. The conceit of section one of this essay is partial role reversal. How would a doctor who was a cow explain to yearling interns how to breed humans? This is what a cow might sound like if she thought about humans the ways that human purebred livestock breeders think about cows. Section two switches back to a human perspective and treats the extensive interventions into cattle reproduction as the mundane options that they have become for many farmers. This essay highlights the traffic of reproductive technologies across the porous human-bovine species boundary.

The paper is an attempt to examine the contents of National Law university library website, that has been carried on the twenty national law universities in India. The content available on the website was analysed according to a framework designed to meet the objectives of the study. The data was collected from the websites of universities during March 2017 to May 2017 that has been ranked using a rating scale. The purpose of this study is to trace out the growth and development of social science literature in open access environment published from India. Total 1195 open access papers published and indexed in Scopus database in ten years have considered for the present study. Research publication from 2008 to 2017 have been analyzed based on literature growth, authorship pattern, activity index, prolific authors and institutions, publication type, channel and citation count have examined to provide a clear picture of Indian social science research. One type of frequently used references in scientific papers is online references. The aim of this study is to study the prevalence, accessibility and types of online sources in biomedical journals in Iran from 2010 to 2012. We analyzed online references cited in 401 articles from 21 scientific journals indexed in PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus. Findings revealed that only 73 papers (18.2%) had cited online sources in their references. of 186 online citations, 72 (38.7%) citations were accessible, and the URLs to 114 citations did not work (61.3%). The aim of this study is to examine the growth of scientific publications of top ten most productive countries during the period 1996 – 2015. The data was obtained from the SCOPUS database. Compound Annual Growth Rate and Relative Growth Index have been employed. The study reveals the growth pattern of top ten countries during the period 1996-2015 and shows the research concentrations in major disciplines. China registered highest growth during the period 1996-2015 and only India registered higher growth from 1996-2005 to 2006-2015. The present study was carried out to find out the association between Mendeley readership count and citation pattern for scholarly articles. This study was carried out with the most prolific authors of 2014 from the four subject domain “Clinical medicine, Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Neuroscience” and around 4886 papers was identified and studied their Mendeley readership count and citation count. It was found that the articles of the most prolific authors in the above subject have a strong positive correlation between Mendeley readership count and citation; ρ value is .715**.
