Citations Of Desidoc Journal Of Library And Information Technology: Statistical Analysis Of Google Scholar Based Research Impact For The Period Of 2006 To 2015, Renjith V R

Google Scholar (GS) is the only available global database for the citation analysis of Indian LIS journals. The present study is an attempt to highlight the citation output of research articles in DESIDOC Journal of Library and Information Technology (DJLIT) published during the period 2006–2015. This study is based on Google Scholar data. Descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were applied in the study. 406 articles were published during 2006–2015, which were cited 4122 times in Google Scholar. Based on Google Scholar, this study proves that the citation output of articles published in the DJLIT differs significantly with their publication year. …

This paper discusses colorectal cancer research output in Asian during 2000- 2017. The data has been downloaded from PubMed databases. A total of 2726 articles were found. Language distribution shows a majority of the papers are published in the English language 2661 (97.61%) irrespective of the native language of the country and those publications were in the form of journal articles i.e. 2225 (81.62%). This study examined the sustainability of Library Open Source Software (with particular reference to KOHA) in Nigerian academic and research Libraries. Descriptive survey design was adopted with a total number of thirty five (35) libraries which were selected purposefully all over the six (6) geopolitical zones of Nigeria (twenty universities, both privates and publics, ten Polytechnics, and five colleges of education). The aim of the study is to investigate information literacy self-efficacy skills of postgraduate students. The study consists of 115 Library and Information Science Postgraduate Students in South-South, Nigeria. The information literacy self-efficacy scale (7 factors) developed by Kurbanoglu, Akkoyunlu & Umay (2006) was used to collect data. Descriptive statistics and Pearson Correlation Coefficients were used for analysis. Results indicated that the postgraduate students across the three institutions possess information literacy self-efficacy skills. However, there is significant variation in three out of the seven factors predicting information literacy self-efficacy skills. The basic component of any country’s agricultural knowledge system is its agricultural indigenous knowledge (AIK). It encompasses the skills, experiences and insights of people, applied to maintain or improve their livelihood. Regrettably, today, many AIK systems are at risk of becoming extinct because of rapidly changing natural environments and fast pacing economic, political, and cultural changes on a global scale. Practices vanish if not documented and this curtails knowledge growth. The paper deals with the practices and challenges of the certification program for professional librarians in Indonesia. The certification is regarded as the policy and strategy to enhance skills and competencies of professional librarians to transform libraries. The study provides descriptive analysis to explain the implementation of certification program in Indonesia from 2013-2017. The results of study show that the total of 3.039 librarians in Indonesia, 891 librarians (29%) has participated in the certification program. Moreover, the findings indicate that 646 librarians (72.5 %) are certified as competent while 245 librarians are not certified yet or not competent. These results …
