The study was conducted at the Navrongo Campus of UDS which houses two faculties: Applied and Mathematical Sciences. The study used the survey research method and a purposive sampling procedure to sample the lecturers for a period of two weeks in May 2014. The main instrument for data collection was a questionnaire. The study found out that generally there is a high level of ICT skills among the lecturers in computer usage. The Anchor, Volume 130.22: April 12, 2017, Hope College
The Anchor: 2017
The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

Next Page
This edition of Next Page is a departure from our usual question and answer format with a featured campus reader. Instead, we asked speakers who participated in the College’s recent Student Solidarity Rally (March 1, 2017) to recommend readings that might further our understanding of the topics on which they spoke.

More metadata, more metadata problems
- Vendor based DAMS often not offering good authority control solutions
- Libraries in Utah often consult additional regional names sources
- Hosting collections for many partners means less control over cataloging practices.

Our lives are continuously affected by the information that we encounter in ever-increasing volume. The growing awareness of the dangers of uncritical information consumption (e.g. “fake news”) heightens the relevancy of questions investigating the nature of truth and fact. This anxiety manifests on a more personal level in terms of our vulnerable digital selves—identities can be stolen, personal archives can be lost. Anxiety is deeply personal but can affect public lives, professional lives, teaching, and scholarship as it leads to a loss of nuance and an unwillingness to participate in information creation and exchange. Our personal lives suffer, and so …

Archivists and librarians from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) propose a poster for colleagues who promote, or would like to promote, educational and archival material through exhibits using digital platforms. It is intended for archivists and librarians who are not experts in this area and lack abundant IT support, but seek to use various technologies to expand engagement and outreach in the course of their jobs. Our content would be threefold:
1) Not all digital platforms are suitable for promotion of all types of material. Each comes with benefits and drawbacks. We will discuss our use of Omeka, …

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries: Presentations
Wikipedia is 16 years old this year. It is ranked the 5th most visited site on the World Wide Web. Many librarians and information specialists have a love hate relationship with this open access, free internet encyclopedia. Searching for information sometimes exposes: a lack of information, or even, existence of entries on specific topics; inaccurate information; or results in the frustration of a research dead end due to articles lacking references. Wikipedia is, of course, a collaboratively edited resource. A Wikipedia WikiProject is a group of contributors working together to improve the Wikipedia information and the pages on a particular …

The presentation was delivered at the 5th Conference for Librarians at the Ana G. Mendez Educational System, with five campuses in Puerto Rico and the mainland, around the National Library Week theme on the trans-formative power of libraries. Examples of activities and metrics to measure the impact SUAGM libraries have on their constituents and stakeholders are reviewed in the presentation to inspire and provoke staff and librarians to embark in documenting and providing narratives on the impact the SUAGM libraries have across their campuses.
