This study aims to investigate the extent of the application of the marketing orientation concept in state and private university libraries in Jordan from the point of view of their managers and heads of department.

The study sample consisted of 155 library managers and heads of department, of which 85 (54.8%) responded. Thirty one (36.5%) of the respondents were from state university libraries and 54 (63.5%) were from private university libraries.

This paper explores the notion that records created with the Scholarly Works Application Profile will be more accurate and better suited for academia than those created with Qualified Dublin Core. This is accomplished by comparing and contrasting records of scholarly articles created with Qualified Dublin Core and records for the same documents created with the Scholarly Works Application Profile. After this practical comparison, the ultimate conclusion reached is that creating records for scholarly works with SWAP is much easier than with QDC, and that the records themselves are indeed better designed for academia.

The objective of the study was to determine the types of information members of parliament (MPs) needed, how they acquired and utilized them in the decision making processes and the problems they encountered in finding relevant information.

The survey method was used for the study. Data was collected from a sample of 115 parliamentarians through the use of questionnaire. The data collected were analysed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS).

Co-authorship patterns derived from 1997-2012 data in the EBSCO-Host BSP (Business Source Premier)dtabase are analyzed to show the status of Business Management (BM) collaboration in India. The growth of co-authored publications during the study period is calculated as 37.94 percent and single authored papers as 42.7 percent using the log- linear model. A literature review of user preferences, research habits and needs, and citation studies are used to argue that deaccession of print titles in the humanities and social sciences in academic libraries should occur in a conservative fashion as libraries transition to greater digital holdings. The issue of retention of translations is given special emphasis. The centrality of engaged research for undergraduate education makes the retention, at present, of both a rich print and digital collection necessary as the distinction between a collection geared toward faculty research and one for undergraduate research becomes less important.

This article reports a survey on the students’ perception of new security measures in Nnamdi Azikiwe Library, University of Nigeria Nsukka. Data were collected by using a questionnaire and follow up interview with students of the institution. The response rate was 70%. Result showed that the majority of the respondents (213(51%) are undergraduates, the majority of the respondents are in year 2, 141 (33%), majority of the students used the library to a large extent for space or table to study, 168 (40%). Purpose: The purpose of the present study is to investigate the characteristics of external environment of companies in the second industrial area of Ahvaz and its effect on managers' environmental scanning behavior in using information resources.

Method: An analytic survey method is used to analyze the relationship between variables.

Harold Borko a prominent information scientist, psychologist, and educator made durable contributions to the development of modern information science. In this paper, his scholarly production is analyzed, it includes articles in scholarly journals, papers published in conference proceedings, chapters in books, books and technical reports from 1961 to 1995. Data was retrieved from various bibliographic databases such as Library and Information Science Abstracts; Science Citation Index, Google Scholar, the Publish or Perish bibliographic analyzer, and other sources. The results show Borko's contributions to library and information science by publication productivity, subject distribution, collaborative authorship and other scientometric parameters.

We present an analysis of the articles published in the Journal of Management Studiessince its inception to assess to what extent JMS has: maintained its leading international ranking; maintained its founding mission as a broad based management journal; and remained a broad based management journal compared to other general management journals. In terms of its impact factor and citations despite reaching a low point in 2001, we find that JMS today ranks higher than it has ever done throughout its 50‐year history.
