Role Of Panjab Digital Library In Digitizing Manuscripts: A Case Study, Pardeep Rattan
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
A manuscript is basically a hand-written or inscribed piece of information on bark, leaf, cloth, metal, paper or any other material in any composition. These new collections are a rich source of potential digital content. Bringing these collections online requires keeping the research audience in mind with thoughtful processing, modernizing traditional folklore archives description techniques, and working collaboratively with multiple library departments. The end results include expanded holdings and new digital resources for local historians.

Through twenty-five interviews and 3 focus groups, we studied the information-seeking strategies of forty members of the faculties. The examination focused on …

The Twenty-First Century Black Bag: Mobile Delivery Of Health Care Information And Implications For Health Science Library Collection Development, Elizabeth Retzel Bucciarelli
Graduate Capstone Projects
Mobile devices such as electronic tablets and smart phones have had a tremendous impact on the delivery of health and medically-related information for health care professionals. These innovative information tools are now used regularly at the patient bedside and in clinical care settings to enhance patient education and to access information regarding best practices, and point-of-care diagnostics and treatments. Presumably, then, institutions which educate students in the health sciences must also teach and acclimate them throughout their allied health programs to integrate and apply these health information delivery tools into clinical practice. This project will review the last five years …

Libraries And Total Quality: Making The Patron A Partner, Todd Bruns, Rendong Bai
Faculty & Staff Research & Creative Activity
Libraries began to see service competition for the first time in the 1990s, due to the Internet and Google. The necessity of being more customer-focused became apparent, and this resulted in the creation of LibQUAL+, a tool developed to quantitatively measure the quality of customer service (Saunders, 2007). While LibQUAL+ serves as a first step toward increasing quality and value for patrons, library commitment to responding to survey results is essential.
Although LibQUAL+ has been used by a wide range of libraries, this paper focuses on the use of LibQUAL+ by academic libraries, using two university libraries (Vanderbilt University and …
