This study investigated effective utilization of information resources for research in nursing by student nurses in Benue State School of Nursing and Midwifery, Makurdi. The study looked at the types of information resources mostly utilized by student nurses, extent of utilization by student nurses for research in nursing. We aim the identification of library policies in universities in the United States with a focus on extraction the elements of policies and classification of policies into main components.

In this study, twenty library websites of universities in the United States have been inquired to extract main components of library policies using the classification and comparative analysis. The finding indicates that there are several elements of the policies in the university libraries. In this view, 70 elements are identified which can be categorized into 12 main components. This paper attempts to explore the information seeking behavior of medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy and homeopathic colleges in goa state. The purpose of the study is to know the awareness and use of reference sources available in the library and to know the preference of media as a source of information for their requirement. Results found that, still 95 percent respondents refer/depend upon printed books for their information needs. This study assessed the influence of attitude and subjective norm (injunctive and descriptive) on the intention to use open access journals (OAJ); and how personal innovativeness in information technology affects intention to use open access journals among researchers in Tanzanian Agricultural Research Institutes. This study employed the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) by Fishbein and Ajzen (1975), and the data was collected from 121 researchers through a cross-section survey questionnaire. The findings from the study revealed that subjective norm is the strongest predictor of the intention to use OAJ, followed by personal innovativeness. This study involves an examination of the download rates for The Ohio State University’s freely available electronic theses and dissertations. The Graduate School has required submission of doctorial (2002) and masters (2008) for over a decade, with limited exceptions, including embargos. Older digitized theses and dissertations have been made available over the past several years, resulting in over 51,000 titles in the online holdings. Download data from the OhioLINK Electronic Theses and Dissertations Center were analyzed to determine how well the theses and dissertations were used and what departments saw noted success for their students’ works.

This study investigated operational challenges of providing library services to long distance learners at higher education institutions in Uganda. The study adopted a survey research design, and the population was drawn from distance learners and librarians at Uganda Martyrs University (UMU). Quantitative and qualitative approaches were employed, online Google Form questionnaires were sent to 50 distance learners and 5 library staff. Information technology steered the proliferation of information resources in different formats, thus, making available a lot of information choices for the diverse needs of all types of users. To be able to obtain quality resources, the academic libraries play a crucial role in developing the information competencies of college students. This study examined the information literacy of college freshmen using a cognitive test. Scores were analyzed using mean scores, frequency, and percentage. Findings indicate that college freshmen have above average literacy in accessing information, and average in evaluating and using information.
