Meals on Wheels customers received a surprise treat in the form of a free book with their meal deliveries. This is a joint initiative between the Fayette County Public Library, the Friends of Fayette County Public Library and Fayette Senior Services.

The Georgia Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (GLS) is undertaking a year-long "Road Trip" in 2025, visiting a different public library system each week. This initiative aims to reconnect with library staff and potential patrons across Georgia. GLS staff deliver information, promotional materials, and engage with communities to increase awareness and access to their services for individuals with disabilities. The road trip also features a monthly blog to document their progress and build connections statewide.

Spaces are arguably an academic library’s most important physical resource. As more coursework and published materials move online, students are seeking out academic libraries for where they can study and be successful, not only for what concrete resources the library can offer them. With that knowledge in mind, academic librarians are called to, as Spencer & Watstein (2017) write, “understand and appreciate that spaces not only inspire creativity, reflection, exploration and innovation but also impact learning” (p. 389). With the swift ascendence of generative AI tools like ChatGPT disrupting the academic and cultural landscape, librarians have debated how to respond to this incredibly consequential technology. From pondering its applications in completing rote tasks to denouncing its ethical conundrums, the debate has mainly centered on whether AI should even be used. In an instruction context, the scholarly conversation has been somewhat limited to how the ACRL Framework can be utilized when teaching with generative AI. What has yet to emerge is an assertive pedagogy that practically engages with generative AI while affirming the agency of students as independent actors …

Announcement of the City of Savannah Municipal Archives' Community Memory Project, an initiative to collect and preserve the stories and memories of Savannah's diverse communities. The project invites all Savannah residents to contribute their photographs, stories, and artifacts that document the city's rich history and cultural heritage. Its first project is a collection of funeral programs (primarily African American), now available via the Digital Library of Georgia.

The use of Open Educational Resources (OER) is becoming increasingly widespread in higher education institutions as the ease of use, equitable access, and the cost-free availability makes OER a viable option for classroom materials. Incorporating OER into the curriculum can be both beneficial and challenging for faculty. Because librarians are skilled and efficient in finding adequate resources to supplement learning, they prove to be an asset when striving to implement an OER initiative in the institution. While faculty would be the primary group to introduce many of the OER to students, it takes a collaborative effort between faculty and librarians …
