Citation Analysis Of Dissertations Of Law Submitted To University Of Delhi, Joginder Singh Burman, M. Sheela

A total of 3,052 citations were analyzed appended from 33 dissertations submitted by LLM students of University of Delhi, Delhi in 2006.It was found that 25.52% citations were from the journal articles and EPW with 7.19% citations was the most used journal.69.78% citations were from the subject of Law and 79.84% contributions were produced under single author-ship.41% periodicals were cited from USA.Half-life of periodical literature was 11 years.

Reading has been the object of empirical and theoretical investigations since the distant past and has been studied from every possible angle by researchers from different subjects such as psychology, sociology, education, media studies, and library and information science. The present study investigates the reading habits of rural and urban college students of Kashmir Valley. The sample was selected through statistical sampling formula and stratified random sampling technique was used to select students. A questionnaire was used as a data collection tool. This study investigated the information needs and impediments to access to information among the sandwich and part-time students of two public universities in Ogun State, Nigeria. The two universities are Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) and Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED). Questionnaire was used to gather data from 5117 respondents out of 5575 students sampled. The study identified that both male and female sexes pursue part-time/sandwich courses due to one reason or another. This paper examined the issues in citing internet resources using APA style. It was discovered that without citation, there may be no other means of obtaining clarification or additional information about a write up. It was therefore recommended that sources used as evidence in writing a piece of information should be clearly cited and referenced accordingly; only works cited in-text should be included in the reference list; there is also the urgent need for writers and information users on the internet to acquire the basic skills necessary for citing internet resources in line with acceptable styles or formats.

The research objective is to discover the user satisfaction with library resources and services in Nigerian Agricultural Research Institutes (NARIs) In conducting this study, the survey research design was adopted with User Satisfaction with Library Resources and Services Questionnaire (USLRSQ) and structured interview as major instruments for data collection. The questionnaire was administered on 340 researchers from the entire 14 agricultural research institute in Nigeria. The overall response rate was 73.5%. This study investigated the accessibility and use of Internet services in Nigerian private university system. The survey method was used for the study and data were collected with questionnaire from 240 respondents. However, this role is grossly hindered as a result of lack of information on problems such as healthcare, literacy, early marriages, poverty, and lack of education. This study investigated the extent to which academics in science and engineering have access to research information through their university libraries. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select six universities, which were sampled from 13 Federal universities in Southern Nigeria. Purposive sample approach was used to survey academics in science and engineering faculties. In all 435 questionnaires were distributed for data collection and 291 (67%) were returned. This study evaluates the state of SUBEB libraries/Learning resource centres (LRCs) in three selected states of the South-West region on Nigeria. The study aimed at ascertaining the adequacy and relevance of learning resources, infrastructural facilities and services to the needs of teachers, pupils and other users of the library. This paper investigated the professional visibility of Nigerian library association (NLA). The descriptive survey method was adopted for this study. Data collected and analyzed was based on 200 non-librarians in Abia state and 25 librarians who are registered members of NLA in the Abia state chapter. 68.5% of the non-librarians whose knowledge of NLA was explored have not heard or know of NLA, while 76% of the librarians, whose opinions were gathered, agreed that NLA is not visible in Nigeria. Database coverage of Indian journals in Web of Science and Scopus were identified. Impact factor from Journal Citation Reports 2008. SCImago journal rank indicator of Indian journals was tabulated and compared. It was found that Scopus covers more impact factor-tracked Indian journals, while Web of Science covers 45 Indian journals with impact factor.

A survey of student use of Hezekiah Oluwasanmi Library was carried out with five hundred students as respondents. While 95 percent of respondents use the library, those who do not have various reasons for it. It also showed that of all the library materials, indexes/abstracts, microfilms, and government publications are the least used library resources. Recommendations for improving the use of library resources are made.

The study explored the extent of open access, institutional repositories, and scholarly publishing of academic librarians. Population of the study was 67. It comprised academic librarians in University of Nigeria (50), Enugu State University of Technology (6), Michael Okpara University of Agriculture (6), and Anambra State University (5). 52 (77. 61%) copies of the questionnaire were returned and 45 (86.54%) were found usable. Data were collected by a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire contained 38 questions which were divided into six sections.
