Using the Libqual+ model, the present study aims to compare the viewpoints of students and librarians in the Tehran’s Medical Sciences University to determine the quality of library services. The results show that the users consider the current quality of services lower than what the librarians consider them to be. This difference of opinion is much more drastic when examining the information control subscale. Service superiority gap was estimated to be -2.14 for the overall library services under study and the said libraries fall fairly short of providing users with the desired level of services. Purpose: the purpose of the work was to investigate the knowledge of Librarians about Social Media and how they are using it. Methodology: the methodology employed for this work is descriptive research design using a self-developed questionnaire which is carefully compared with available literatures. Twenty-six different tertiary institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, school of nursing) covering four states in the south west Nigeria was used. Abstract

The relevance of academic library to people outside the academic setting needs to be redefined because of restrictions and non inclusion of their information needs in collection development policy. The study therefore evaluated town-gown relationship in Ondo State Nigeria with direct cognisance to assessment of Community Information Services (CISs) by academic libraries. Complete enumeration sampling technique was adopted to distribute questionnaires to all 58 librarians working in academic libraries in the State. 52 questionnaires were returned and found useful. The present study aims to analyze the growth of Library and Information Science (LIS) research articles in India. It covers a total of 385 article indexed by Scopus database during the period of 2004-2013. In this study the authors have tried to analyze the annual growth of LIS research publications in India and to identify the authorship pattern, authors’ productivity and degree of collaboration. Lotka's inverse square law has been applied to identify the productivity of authors and Bradford's law has been applied to identify the scattering of core journals.

Research on library deviance in Nigeria has largely relied on librarians’ accounts, which often portray students as ‘deviants’ and the libraries as ‘victims’, however we focus on a holistic account which incorporates both students’ and librarians’ narratives in the analysis of deviant behaviours in library utilization. Purpose: This Study seeks to reveal the opinion of the users of National Library and Archives of the Islamic Republic of Iran (NLAI) about library services based on cell Phones, to recommend new services for this library.

Design/Methodology/Approach: Descriptive survey method was used in this research and the required data were collected from 150 randomly selected samples, through a questionnaire developed by researcher.

The study sought to assess the reading habits among students and their effects on their academic performance. The study was conducted in Koforidua Polytechnic situated in the Eastern Region of Ghana. A questionnaire was used for the data collection. The data collected were analyzed quantitatively with the use of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). This study explores the practicability of resource sharing amongst Nigerian academic law libraries by looking at academic law libraries in south-west Nigeria. Judgmental sampling technique was used in selecting four law librarians while simple random technique was used in selecting four law faculties in south west, Nigeria. This article addresses the purpose, the organization, and results of an experimental credit-bearing upper division service-learning course at a Master’s granting university, entitled LIBR 397: The Digital Divide. In addition to reviewing collegiate efforts on teaching the Digital Divide within the United States, this article also provides an overview of the challenges and successes associated with teaching such a course. In conclusion, the unique nature of the LIBR 397 course prompted students to see firsthand the complexities inherent in the Digital Divide phenomenon within the United States. First Class: Pioneering Students At San José State University’S School Of Library And Information Science, 1928-1940, Debra L. Hansen

School of Information Student Research Journal

This article examines the backgrounds, education, and careers of the first group of students in San José State University’s School of Library and Information Science. It finds that the 1928-1929 cohort were typical of the students attending teacher’s colleges in the early 1900s and represented the first generation of women pursuing higher education and professional careers following the passage of the 19th amendment in 1920. The study also explores the challenges working women faced during the 1930s, particularly the Great Depression’s impact California librarians.
