Follow The Leader: Empowering Graduate Book Club Leaders Within Edi Conversations, Amy Dye-Reeves
Transforming Libraries for Graduate Students
The poster will focus on multiple case studies from 2020 to 2023, ranging in interdisciplinary topics to highlight all lesser-known historical and contemporary women of color and ethnicity at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Each term, faculty members select graduate students within the Education Psychology and Leadership program. The elected four members were part of the graduate reader advisory book group. The group helped establish speakers, created discussion questions for the larger and break-out Zoom rooms, co-planned the weekly agenda for the monthly program, and helped connect with local and global partnerships. Student Perceptions Of The Efficacy Of A Required Information Literacy Test In The First Academic Year, Howard S. Carrier, David Vess, Kathy Clarke
The Southeastern Librarian
This paper reports on how one university attempts to instruct all incoming students on information literacy fundamentals using an asynchronous test supported by a suite of related materials. The paper explores how students interpret the efficacy of this model as they move further along in their academic career. Using a mixed-methods approach, with the majority of data being obtained through focus groups, the researchers (librarians employed in the library through which the test is developed), reflect on the advantages and disadvantages to this model, and suggest improvements to further ensure student engagement with this type of information literacy instruction and …

Eatonton is home to several prolific authors, including Alice Walker. Partnering with Georgia Writers Museum, Eatonton-Putnam County Library has established the Alice Walker Mini-Museum. This space showcases the literary works of Alice Walker and provides a space for students to draw inspiration for writing when visiting the library. AZRLS is thrilled to share the museum with the community and visitors are welcome to tour the space during regular library hours

Digital Library of Georgia (DLG) news for the fourth quarter of 2023 includes the release of the Chase Street Elementary School PTO scrapbooks collection, which includes engaging scrapbook content created and curated by parent-teacher organizations of a Southern elementary school covering the years 1926 to 2000, which includes the Progressive Era, World War II, the Civil Rights Movement, and the turn of the twentieth-century. The article also features the DLG's efforts to support community-driven archives throughout the state of Georgia, aligned with national trends and fostering cultural heritage work in Georgia.

Since 2020, conspiracy theories have crossed into mainstream media with dastardly effects. In attempting to prove conspiracy theories to be real, “researchers” try to back their claims with information. As major institutions within the information society, libraries and archives play a unique role in a world in which more and more people are interested in misinformation and disinformation. This article uses a review of selected literature to address three questions in relevance to public library systems and conspiracy theorists. The first is: what is the ethical responsibility of information managers in providing misinformation and disinformation in regard to intellectual freedom? …
