The article focuses on the renovation and expansion the Dade County Public Library and the LaFayette-Walker County Public Library in Georgia. The Dade County Public Library is in the construction phase while the LaFayette-Walker County Public Library is in the design development phase. Facilities that will be added in each library are community room, a YA department and a public computing area.

The two best books that she read in a while are "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" by David Wroblewski and "The Last American Man" by Elizabeth Gilbert. She names four autographed books in her collection. The article deals with information overload. Nicholas Carr in his book "The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains" explains the process of cognitive overload. Carr also explains how Internet, cell phones or electronic mail messages distract people from contemplation. Carr stresses that the current lifestyle is eroding a person's capacity for deep, sustained, perception attention. The term information overload is defined by Kathryn Hensiak. She states that her favorite is the classic "The Joy of Cooking" which has the best recipe she has made for chocolate chip drop cookies and that she has all the Paula Deen cookbooks and "The Columbia Restaurant Spanish Cookbook" by Adela Hernandez Gonzmart. The author notes that each of her cookbooks evokes memories for her, like a particular item's time and place of purchase.

The article highlights the 25th year of support for Columbus and the Chattahoochee Valley area libraries in Georgia by the Columbus Area Library Association (CALA) in 2010. It is stated that the group presented the Library Recognition Award to Mildred L. Terry library branch manager Silvia Bunn for increasing its circulation 150 percent and that a 250-dollar scholarship for a library science masters degree has been established. A special proclamation was presented to Esther Curry in April for her long-term library support.
